be?
All make your post here about who you like as artist making theme song or ingame music for eve offcourse i don't want only names but also good describtion why, personally i would love to have some main theme music from:
Nine Inch Nails (a.k.a. frontman Trent Raznor) He made the quake music and Zelda music. Also he's a damn good musician and i can't wait for his new album to show up. The fact that i always keep finding new melodies in his music and tunes i never heard before makes him the perfect artist for making the theme song for eve. __________________________

i like the hallur stuff too more of that would be cool - maybe some new tunes in with the shiva patch? well, that or some proper space music (blue danube, ride of the valkyries etc).. i thought the Frontier: Elite 2 music was brilliant.

Ok I know you placed this question asking for a musician, but what about band?
ummmm ...... ClawFinger. Know em? Know em .. not ... I think there music is very "Eve". Its sorta electric rap rock and sounds kinda in the mood for Eve.... fella Fingers, does that make sense?
BTW.... this has to be THE best topic I have seen on these boards :-) Lets keep it going in a fun spirit!

Slinky, you have the best sig ever.
As for music, I like to listen to the Verve, cos they farking rock.
That, or Eve Radio, of course. Nearly all the tracks are totally unrelated to Eve, but that's beside the point. .

I like the ones who did the original Homeworld sound tracks. The war tunes for the Turanic Raiders and the Kadeshi swarm should be played whenever a pirate attack is in progress.

I would have to say I do alot of running around the eve universe listening to Aphex Twin. Versatile artist with sounds ranging to Avant-Garde noise terrorism to Ambient. I also like Underworld.

Eric Whitacre.
He mainly does choral/instrumental stuff. Check out Ghost Train, October, and Water Night for some examples.
Also check out http://www.paradiselosttheopera.com for his current project... if the music from the flash into is any indication, it's not your daddys opera.... (Mix of classical, electronica, and trance styles. Should be fun!)

johhny cash:"ring of fire"when im burning and flying home.
dolly parton:"working 9 till 5" when i join the trade channel.

Aye, Sigur Ros works rather well for me as well.
I'd also point out a pretty much different musician than most peopl have so far: Assemblage 23 (it's a one man band anyway).
Spanning from EBM (*Great* battle music) over quiet tracks as well.
And a tad bit of Jon Hallur. Truly beautiful music, I must say. First time I undocked in my Megathron, the only fitting music was the ingame.
All my respect at Jon Hallur.

Yeah, I reckon he could come up with some sweet stuff for Eve... Nice and dark and disturbing.
I usually stick with Jon Hallur's stuff, but now you've mentioned this I'm gonna have to try Eve with the Alice soundtrack - I reckon a lot of it would work well.

Sigur Ros is a nice pick! I listen to the master of ambient music, Biosphere! Basically any electronica is good for gaming music. Not techno, but real electronica like Two lone Swordsmen, Plaid, Autechre, Nav Katze, Boards of Canada...the list goes on I also LOVE Theatre of Tragedys latest album Assembly! Though true Theatre fans might not like it much. Lastly also try out Mirwais and Lali Puna!

lol Dreamworks, I've read your topic heading and thought wow easy question : NIN and MM that was before reading what your suggestion was.
Get Trent Raznor in damnit let him make the soundtrack for the introduction of Jove in eve.
Also I must say that the ccp artist who made the original soundtrack did an excellent job, but some NIN or MM added to it would be very nice indeed.

Vangelis (older songs) or J.M.Jarre when in floating, travelling.
Blues when mining (any).
Iron Maiden when in combat (Die with your (space) boots on)
Twilight Zone theme when you met a GM ingame.

If you like in-game ambient music that does not repeat itself too often then try WINAMP Shoutcast internet radio.
Choose a Genre (doesn't have to be ambient) and then pick a station from the list. Many offer a choice of bandwidths too, from 56k to 256k.
With Broadband ADSL, I have no probs with a 128K stream. My advice is to start EVE first, then ALT/ENTER to desktop and then start stream. If bandwidth narrows music will pause rather than game CTD.
Enjoy
