Hello. I am a Minmatar, and I use my race's ships. Please, I have two questions: 1. What T1 ship and what fitting do you reget as best in killing frigates and after it attacking cruisers in level four mission, when my corpmates are tanking in their battleships ? 2. What weapons in the Tempest do you think are good in countering frigates, while still having good teeth to bite the battleships ? Thank you.

Generically speaking, drones are going to be the best defense against small ships. All minmatar BS's have enough drone capacity to have a full flight of lights and a full flight of mediums.
If you want a ship dedicated to killing smaller ships, you are either going to want to do it from far away from the tanker with artillery, or up close with auto cannons. Consider also using a full gank BC, so that you can use medium weapons for better tracking.
Specifically for the tempest, I'd prob use AC's and heavy/assault launchers. Arties would require you to either pop them before they get close, or stay a good bit away back from your tanker.

Edited by: Pwett on 08/10/2007 22:42:07 Gotta say, if you have someone tanking, get yourself in an arbitrator / vexor with t2 light scouts and enough drone links / sensor boosters to get your drones range up to 100km. Fill the rest with Drone navigation mods, and you'll have a frig eating setup.
It's really worth deviating from minmatar ships just for these gems. _______________ Pwett CEO and Founder [QTC]QUANT Corp.

Edited by: Molly Neuro on 08/10/2007 23:02:15 If it is purely anti-frig and cruiser then a sniper rupture
720 arty Sensor Boost - tracking comps 3 Gyro's / tracking enhancers / RCU if you can't fit it without.
will kill frigs as fast as you can lock them.
Although really, Tech II lights or mediums in your tempest should take care of them - no problems.

Curiously I got Concorded in a lvl 4 whilst using a smart bomb which I have done loads of times before in my Domi, (pull in my sentries ) and watch them fry.
The ship I lost was the single biggest loss to my short lived insignificant existence. Tbh I dont know how or why it happened that time but before it was peachy! now I dont run missions at all

2. Probably T2 Hammerheads.

You hit a neutral target close to you and invoked concords wrath. Concord really doesn't like you to hit any neutral structure. As for frigs and the domi: Use lights you have the dronebay to spare or use heavies and 2 omnidirectional links.
To the op. Use a t2 arty thrasher. It is designed to pop frigs from afar.

My friend, this is EVE, as it's a space oriented game, they couldn't have trolls. We have Caldari.

I depends on exactly what type of T1 ship you want to/can fly.
in most of these scenarios you'll want some form of artillery/light missile load out. Frigate: Option a) Rifter with arty Frigate: Option b) Vigil with Target Painters (ooo looky, BS can splater frigates now) Frigate: Option c) Breacher with light missiles Destroyer: Option a) The T1 armed gank dessy isn't bad Destroyer: Option b) if you've got the skillz a T2 armed gank dessy is purpose build to kill frigates faster than you can target and with two sensor booster you can target frigs pretty fast (caveat: advanced weapons upgrade 4 or 5 is not easy to get to - although it solves a lot of fitting problems on all ships). Cruiser: Option a) Scythe with a mix of tracking links, assault missile launchers and possibly some target painters if you can fit em (once again, your BS buddies suddenly have no problems with frigates) Cruiser: Option b) Bellicose with Small Arty or the lightest medium artillery with tracking aids (the ones that go in the lows) and assault missile launcher and target painters, lotsa target painters. This is arguably the role for which this ship was designed. Cruiser: Option c) any other cruiser: Small Arty or the lightest medium artillery with tracking aids and assault missile launcher.
Now in most cases you'll want to hang back from your BS buddies so they grab any agro and not you. This is why you want serious range for a frigate or dessy. you want to be on the other side of the BS from any agro but you want to be able to kill stuff before it gets can attack the BS preferably.
The exception to this is obviously the Vigil, Scythe and Bellicose. Most people discount the matari e-war ships. Mainly because there is less evident application of these ships in PvP. Welcome to the situation in which they shine. Independent of their inherent ability to kill small ships, they are there to allow the big boys to kill small ships really really quickly. When a npc frigate's signature is suddenly as big as a battle cruiser and those big artillery or rails can suddenly track a gnat, and heavy/cruise missiles are suddenly hitting for full damage, trust me the BSes can also take care of frigates very very fast. This is one of those effects that unless you've seen in action you don't really know how effective it can be.

Purist are you ?
Hurricane (as already mentioned) makes a great 220mm platform with decent speed and tank for a L4 (just in case) should also make for a perfect cruiser smasher.
**Doh! not actually a TI ship but still cool**Wolf/Shag : Perfect for L4 frig assassination and again should make for a good emergency tank if the **** hits the fan.
Thrasher (250's): Yummy yummy yummy as anti frigate and also huge fun to fly. If your up for some antifrig support only and are prepared to warp at a blink of a yellow flashy thing then id go for the Thrasher.
As for the Tempest you should really keep your drones specifically for those close up bastards. Valk IIs are teh sex and warrios II's make mincemeat of frigates and L4 dessie NPC's
You could also try fitting 12's instead of 14's as you get much better tracking for hitting frigates but considering most of the L4 missions you should have no problems with JIP's and sniping the frigates with a decent alpha from a 14. if they get close Valk IIs go munchy munchy and also melt through those NPC BC's pretty damn fast too.
You could try TII precision cruise missiles but tbvfh they kinda suck unless you have caldari speced missile skills.
on a side note for drones and frigates . . . if you DONT web the frigates I have found that the drones actually do better damage. I think its due to the drones overtracking their targets. So if your webbing the frigs try letting the drones do their thing withiout assistance :)

t2 light drones, hobgoblins are usually the best for missions since mission rats dont move that fast
