A young woman sits in the corner of a nondescript room which could be in a station or planetside starport. Her identification codes list her as a registered capsule pilot. However, she has no visible capsuleer implants. After a moment, she begins to speak.
We are the Children of Gehenna. Today, we claim formal responsibility for the death of Scagga Laebetrovo. This piece of Nefantar filth was executed for his numerous crimes against the Matari people. This crimes include collaboration with the Amarrian Empire with intent to subjugate the Matari people, the forcible conversion of innocent Matari to the monstrous religion of his Amarrian masters, and most damning, the willful purchase and possession of enslaved Matari.
As all monsters, Scagga Laebetrovo was undone by his own crimes. His trading in slaves allowed us to infiltrate his organization, Delictum 23216. The very hand that struck the fatal blow belonged to one whom the traitor Laebetrovo believed he owned. He denied him his freedom, his Matari pride. He demeaned a great warrior by calling him ... "Cuddles." This proud Brutor had a name! His name was Agni Tast, and he chose to die striking down a Matari who dares to keep slaves than live in servitude to such a creature. He will forever be remembered as a martyr of our people.
We are prepared to be scorned for our actions. Those who insist that we should have shown mercy to the traitor Laebetrovo will no doubt insist that he had "seen the light" and that he was willing to make concessions to the Republic. You may even note that was heard stating that he would support and end to slavery in the Mandate, as if he had that power.
Fools. You fail to see that he only considered such concessions because of our actions. We enflamed his paranoia. We disrupted the operations of Delictum 23216. We co-opted both his employees and those he thought to be his slaves. We whispered in the ear of his Amarrian overlords that he had become disloyal. We put him in fear of his very life. He would have said anything to preserve his worthless existence. Ask yourself: Once free of that fear, do you honestly think he would have stayed true to his word? Of course not.
Evanda Char. You are a good woman, and you did not deserve to be used like this. We apologize for the trouble we have caused you. We apologize for lying to you, but we do not apologize for our results. As you have no doubt realized, there never were any hostages, no captured agents. Most of all, we are sorry that you were led to believe that you could reconcile with our treacherous kin. But you must understand: Even if he had been honest, even if he had been willing to cast aside his Amarrian overlords, even if he had been willing to set free those whom he kept in bondage ... that does not remove his guilt.
In your hands, he may found forgiveness. He may have found mercy. In ours, none are forgiven, and mercy does not come to the wicked. For his crimes, Scagga Laebetrovo deserved death. Not the temporary inconvenient death that you capsuleers feel is your birthright. He deserved a true and final death. And even if the clone of Scagga Laebetrovo ever rises, the man he was will be dead. We have destroyed him and all that he was.
To those capsuleers who aid in the oppression of our people: You may believe yourselves immune to death. You may believe that you have nothing to fear from the ones who live only once and then die forever. You are wrong. You are not immune. You are not safe. It may cost us a thousand lives for every one of you we destroy. And even though we outnumber you, even though we grow in numbers ever day, we may very well run out of lives before you do. We are willing to accept that. But while we are alive, we will seek you out. Whether you are Amarrian, Caldari, Gallente or even a traitorous Matari, we will destroy as many of you as we can. We will be avenged.

You have done Scagga Laebtrovo a favor. You have given him a place of honor as a Martyr. He has taken his place in paradise amongst God's most favored.
Take comfort in the fact that your agent "Cuddles" did not get a reprieve from his agony when the nanites finally killed him. Now he will burn for eternity. Every breath he takes will turn to ash in his mouth. He will never again know a moments peace.
The same fate awaits all who would defy the will of God.

No, you must understand. Scagga's guilt is utterly irrelevant. There was a chance for freedom for the people held in the SEP. You killed it.
If petty revenge was actually that important to you, surely you would have killed him after we had got him to free his people. But no, you killed him before he could.
Because of this, the Inquisition descend on DELEO. Terror spreads through their ranks and they are driven to kowtow more and more to the Amarr.
DELEO was drifting more and more away from the Amarr and towards the Matari. You have driven them back.
So who do you serve? Whose ends have you accomplished? The only people you have helped here are the Amarr. So do not insult my people by believing them fool enough to believe your plastic agenda just because you dress it in words of freedom.
Scagga was lost. But you are a traitor.
You just condemned a ****ton of innocent people to life in chains.

Your error is that always made by the arrogant - of believing everyone else to be mentally impaired.
Scagga was trying to play a win-win game. By cosying up to Electus Matari, he created a situation of hostility whereby the closer he got to us, the more we would be railed against by those who wanted vengeance regardless of what he did. He could have used this postition to maintain a role of usefulness to the Amarr, to protect himself and his people. And should it fail, he would have us to protect him.
But to get in that position, to get our trust, he would have had to do certain things. Ending slavery within his corporation and its associates was one of those things. But more than that, in his new role as philanthropist, he had to see the Matari people anew. He had to witness their pain in a way he could not sugarcoat. And through the way one of his own was treated, when Shern was married off as a reward to Laerise Fierach's current favourite Kameiras pet, he saw that what I'd been telling him was true all along. The Amarr have no respect for the Ammatar. Faithful service earns nothing.
He saw the truth. He was coming home.

So if your power over him was so absolute, why did you not kill him long before? Why content yourself with puny security leaks and making him a bit nervous, when you could have ended him at any time?
Why did the final blow come only when he broke ties with the Amarr and asked for help in ending slavery among his people?
Were you in fact only able to whisper of his disloyalty in the ear of his overlords, because that was your job?
If you are truly no Ammatar bent to the will of the Amarr...
then you are doing a damn good impression of one.
There is no place for arrogant stupidity in the fight for freedom.
You have hurt our people.

Electus Matri protect us? Yeah fat lot of good you guys did.
Maybe it's better that he didn't finish with his plan, whatever it was. You sure protected him well, that's even if the logs are true. If they're not then it could have been you guys that killed him. That would sure be interesting now wouldn't it.
Like I've got any of you to thank for anything. Thanks to all of you I had a midshipman try to kill me earlier from my own corp. That's always a nice surprise when you're just minding your own business. No I can safely tell you that nobody has to thank you people for anything.

Miss Evanda Char, you do seem to forget a few certain things. First of all Scagga had NOT come around yet. Second there was no certain fact that said it was NOT a scheme or double-play. As it stands, with current evidence, they killed a traitor - nothing more and nothing less.
To state otherwise is mere speculation.
Do I agree with their action of killing Scagga at this...opportunity? No. Personally I would have liked to seen the outcome and if what both of you discussed was his true intentions.
I have no love for the nefantar and on many occasions said they should be executed without hesitation, perhaps age makes you/us wiser. Because on the LAST occasion all SRS/HIRD operations was put on hold in ammatar lands until peace negotionations proved to bear fruit or was just vane/futile attempts.
To prove what I've just stated, and it is not often I leave my temple these days, I will extend an offer to Delictum pilots and those close to Scagga to let "us" at the temple examine his body/remains. We have..."different" ways...
As for Children of Gehenna, you have proven resourceful.
Relay a message to the current Ceo of SRS, Joyce, if you are in need of any specifik assets to continue your work at striking at certain individuals. She has ways to contact me directly.

Camar, you also forget certain facts.
They had one of their own as his bodyguard. They could have killed him at any point.
This was an attempt to frame EM as much as it was an action against DELEO.

You must forgive me not being more clear, I keep forgetting that many in the cluster do not read what is simply stated. This is not aimed at you or EM, but rather...well, I'm certain you know what I mean and that my apology is sincere.
If this attack was an active part to smear EM and/or your reputation in anyway this group will of course not have any support from either myself, nor SRS. But regarding any pro-matari or anti-amarr forces, at first I prefer to "free" these groups and hope it was all just unfortunate circumstances. If not I do trust that you or someone from EM will keep me updated, since I must confess I hear very little these days. I will not and have never continued to support any group causing conflict among "our side", regardless of their methods.

The main Nefantar problem is exactly that: arrogance. Arrogance to me explains how the Nefantar were able to turn upon their own people and embrace the god of slavery in the first place.
Corrupted by wealth they deemed themselves more and better than others. Perhaps the fact that they had more material belongings eventually led them to believe they had more intelligence, whereas their wealth was only the result of choosing the easy way out: oppressing others. It is arrogance, the most typical of Nefantar traits which killed Scagga Laebetrovo.
I strongly doubt his friendly stance towards Electus Matari was anything other than pretty words and a well devised plan to fool you. Mind you, the Ammatar are so convinced of their own superiority that they are always willing to lie in your face and then stab you in the back. Do not fool yourself that Scagga was "changing". His Nefantar roots would never allow him to.

In this respect you are right: Scagga's guilt is utterly irrelevant. It is the Ammatar as a whole who are guilty. As a whole they deserve nothing more than to rot with their ancestors.

The small chance that some of those enslaved by the Ammatar would find freedom thanks to Scagga is barely a reason not to end his existence. This is the only safe way to make sure that he will never enslave again.
All those who value diversity and freedom should learn from the past and keep it clear in their minds that the Nefantar are and have always been a curse to the Matari people. Whatever the motives of the Children of Gehenna may be, at least their actions have lifted some of the curse which rests on our people. Let us all do what we can to lift this curse. |

Scagga was returning to his Minmatar roots...interesting.
I am fairly certain that his fate will dissuade any other Ammatar, myself included, from seeking a reunion with our 'kin'.
Perhaps that is what was sought by his murder after all? Perhaps these 'Children' are puppets of the Amarr Inquisition? Hmmmm, food for thought.

You are an intelligent lady and a member of an organization I have respect for. I feel however that in this case you have filled yourself with false hopes. It is understandable though, considering how long our kin have been in the shackles of slavery. Some hope is better than none at all.
There are however some points you should consider from a detached and logical viewpoint:
1) If Scagga was so truly intent upon the freeing of slaves, why then did he have a slave as a bodyguard?
2) Considering that this very slave bodyguard, having heard Scagga talking about the freeing of slaves, then turned and kill Scagga knowing he himself was to die. Why would a slave with freedom being spoken of right in front of him choose death to freedom?
3) Why then would PIE then declare war upon the Children of Gehenna if Scagga was indeed moving against the established laws and ways of his people. Why would such a powerful Amarr organization work to avenge the death of a traitor?
Why indeed.
