I put together a nano-ishtar and I get about around 4km/sec but I'm scared to use it in battle. I've never used a speed "tanked" cruiser. Its sig radius is battleship sized with the mwd on and you run out of cap pretty quick. How is this better than a slower armor tanked version?
I'd think missiles would do max damage, like torps, cruise, and heavies. Heavy neutralizers would stop you flat. How is this setup viable? Why not take advantage of it's increased resistances?

missiles may travel decently fast but the explosion velocit yon torps and cruises are slow. Think you can outrun heavies too.

The large sig radius is made up for with the speed, and you should be using a cap booster to keep your cap up.

Same reason why solo setups are typically fast. If you jump into a gatecamp, you stand a much better chance of getting out.

i tested out my nano ishtar today... did ok... i just have to get use to alot of drones :P
mine does 4.2km/s and i can run everything perma on it.
i dont use even nos to do it.
well... only precision heavys can hurt me in orbit atm.. navy cruise hits ... but not alot when i have LSE on.. shield recharges faster :D
basically precision missiles are ur worst enemy if u dont have snakes. as for neuts.... they have to have 3-4 heavy neuts to kill me but t1 ones dont go up to 30 km :D

get snakes, some implants and u can hit 6k/s. At this speed nothing will hit you, exept 2 things huggin/rapier and heavy neutralizer.
With speed fitted ishtar going solo there is another problem, if you have clever enemy, he would kill your drones, because you will never be able to scoup them.
So in my opinion it is quite good in fast gangs, escpecialy with ecm ships

ps: i dont like to kill innocent ppl, so if i killed u, u rnt innocent

From fighting them I can tell you that there are things that can increase their survivability quite a bit:
- fit a faction web (> 10Km) - keep some boosters handy in case you need to get out - make sure you can overload your MWD in that case - run when you see a Huginn/Rapier on scanner
isn't it funny how some people advocate both GTC<=>ISK trades and EVE being superior due to its cruelty and costly losses, when they use the former to circumvent the latter?

If your enemy has web fitted, they can web your heavy drones and pop them before you can recall. Even if you put 2 dampners on.
Ishtar doesn't seem that appealing to me for this reason.

Ishtar can fit enough heavy T2 drones for this to become pointless and for the target to die anyway, even if it pops 10 drones. It's not a Myrmidon.

In addition to that, swap one of your lows for a CPR and you can permarun the MWD and two damps. Gotta have the damp spec skill up though for it to be useful.
