A friend of mine uses a Thorax, sporting a fantastic tank while using T2 light neutrons (drones help a lot). I believe a Veto member released a video using a similar setup as well. Pretty successful setups.
My medium blaster and rail skills are all level 5, specs at 4. Large blaster / rail skills are crap, as are BS skills (3ish).
I'm goofing with the idea of equipping a battleship with T2 medium blasters, which would leave me enough PG/cpu/cap to fit cap injectors, MWD, and a nice tank to boot instead of a mediocre large T1 blaster and squeezing the rest of the PVP gear into it.

You will get flamed for this. Alot. But it does actually work, in a number of scenarios.

While this idea generally sucks on a lot of ships, it's a very good idea on the dominix.

QFT. Dominix with medium guns can hurt pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend it with any other ship, as you are more likely to be shot down by another BS while flying a BS.

Stick with a t2 fitted BC. The Brutix and Myrm are great boats.
If your BS skills suck but you've strong Cruiser/BC skills then stick with the Cruiser/BC and get to training.
If you have t2 med guns and BS to 3 you only need to train BS to 4 (6ish days), Large Hybrid Turret to 5 (20ish days), Motion Prediction to 5 (9ish days) and Large Blaster Spec to 4 (8ish days).
Thats not a lot of training really.
Do Motion Prediction to 5 first as it benefits your medium guns as well. Then do Large Hyrid Turret to 5 followed by Large Blaster Spec to 1 and you can get into a Domi/Mega/Hyp with t2 blasters. Then finish BS to 4 and Large Blaster Spec to 4, in that order.
So, in < 1 month you can be in a t2 Blaster boat and within another 12-15 days you can have damned decent damage output.

Get a brutix. You still get bonus to damage, you get nice tank, and more guns. You will be slower in the brutix... but still faster then any battleship, and unless you like using drones it would probably work perfectly for what you want it to

wtf is your problem? people just said that dominix works fine with medium blasters. 1-2 heavy nos/neut and medium neutron blasters. ------------------------------

So far, you are the only one that didn't post anything constructive.
Now, I'm the 2nd one.

Medium blasters or even rails on the dominix works ok in alot of situations because they can take care of smaller targets while your drones eat away the big ones. And when you get close to the big ones they make a decent supplement to your dps. I also like it because of the lesser drain on the cap, the better tracking for taking out webbed tacklers/(large)drones and the ammo takes less cargo-space, leaving more room for cap boosters. That being said, if you go solo with this your drone-skillz should be pretty close to optimal if you expect win. Have fun with one of the most versatile ships I've ever flown.
