Stats might be not the most optimal for that role but I am too attached to the character to restart. Besides I can get support up fast.
I can be found here
I am currently flying a Brutix on missions and ratting (some low sec) and I use the following set up
High:
6x 200mm Railgun I with Antimatter M 1x Salvager I
Medium:
1x Stasis Webifier I 1x Warp Scrambler I 1x Supplemental Scanning CPU I 1x 10 MN Afterburner I
Low:
2x 1600mm Reinforced Nanofiber Plates I 2x Small Armor Repairer I 1x Warp Core Stabilizer I
Drones:
4x Hammerhead I
I know I can improve this setup both from a PvP and a PvE perspective, I'd like to hear both since I am faced with both.
Thoughts, Comments, Rants?

Dont use warp core stabs
Use medium armor reps not small
DOn't use items that end in I, find a named version instead..

With decent learning skills that's a only a few weeks at the most excluding the medium t2 blasters.

That's two months total for Tech 2 Blasters and Hammerhead IIs, not bad

Well if you have decent learning skills and some decent implants (for a miner that should not be hard to get...). You can train Medium Hybrid Turret to V in about 17 days total. And get Scout Drone Operation to V in about 6 days. Combine that with needed secondary and tertiary skills... maybe a month? Not two unless your learning skills are horrendous in which case put off pvp plans for a little while.

Edited by: Acoco Osiris on 13/10/2007 13:33:08 Mkay, for missions, you go long-range. And that means railguns with some longer-range ammo, not this ridiculous bunch of 200s with antimatter (though do keep AM in your hold, it's nice for structure-killing). Also, no plates-you want resists so you can tank more. And maybe an afterburner to keep your range (oh, and use the sacred Cap Recharger IIs) Probably something like this: 7x 200mm Railgun (loaded by default with iridium) Afterburner 3x Cap Recharger II MAR (medium rep) II Suitcase II (it's more technically a damage control) 2x mission-specific active armor hardeners (you know the rat type, so you can pick which ones you need) Magstab (aka MFS and magnetic field stabilizer) 5x mission-specific medium drones
For belt ratting, probably go with 200mm railguns with antimatter loaded by default, an MWD to get around, a cap injector, a web, a 1,600mm RT (Rolled Tungsten) plate, and (if you want) a warp scram. Same as above, except swap AB for MWD, the cap rechargers for a cap injector (booster), stasis webifier, warp scram/tracking computer.
For more PvP-ish style, go ion or neutron heavy blasters with antimatter, an MWD, web, 7.5km scram, cap injector, MAR, explosive armor hardener, 1,600mm RT plate, EANM (energized adaptive nano membrane) or suitcase (damage control), and a magstab (also known as MFS and magnetic field stablizer).
Belt ratting and PvP can be sorta mixed to some degree, but trying to mix a missions setup and a PvP setup will result in catastrophic failure. The two styles require totally different approaches, and going for one will inevitably handicap the other. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

Edited by: Jane Salva on 18/10/2007 21:47:39 Ok I would recommend to wait a little to hop in the brutix for pvp just yet. Ive been checking your skills and i would get some more learning skills cause that is always helpfull.
Focus first on frigate pvp then move to cruisers and then bc. It helps you fly the ships better and understand pvp better also it helps you with training skills.
To fly the brutix well in pvp you will need some skills upped as you might have noticed. I would however start with the basic support skills like engineering to V and electronics to V.
Some armor tanking skills like Mechanic to V, Hull upgrades to V (for those T2 hardeners) and Repair Systems to V, the armor comp skills to IV would not harm as well.
It is up to you what skills you want to train first but when you are ready to hop in that lovely brutix for pvp then get the BC skill to 4 as well since you will love the bonus on that.
Jane
P.S.
Offcourse you will need a bit more skills to proper pvp and live in the brutix but i was just pointing to a direction.

tbh training a brutix is easy, but being decent in pvp with it is hard. expect to die a lot.

Cheap low sec pirating gank fit, with a lot of dps and not as much tank. Get a m8 to collect ur loot as u will not be able to tank 4 sentries permantly.
