I'm creating a new character with the following interests in mind in that order,
mining/industial(production/selling and such)/research/hauling
From what I've read on the forums so far this seems to be the best template,
Gallante Intake Reborn
+3 to memory - on creation
+2 to intelligence - on creation
giving,
char 6/int 10/mem 14/perc 3/willp 6 - on creation
Now I should mention I have a dedicated PVP character as well so the role of this character will pretty much be dedicated to the before mentioned roles.
What do you think of these stats, should I lower memory or int by a point or two to put some more into perception or is it "perfect" as it is now?

I'm considering getting myself mining alt, too. I would definitely go for higher perception. If you want to go for Hulk, training Barge V with perception 3 will be pain in the backsideofabody.

Could drop a point from memory and one from intelligence and push up perception by two.
That should speed up the ship training a little.
That sound like a good plan?

Gallente Intaki Reborn is great if you just want to manufacture and research (like me)  .
However, if you want to mine and haul, you'll want a character with stronger perception and less weight on memory. Consider the the training requirements to get into a Hulk for mining and a Freighter for hauling, plus the Navigation skills that you will need.
Additionally, if you want to buy and sell stuff on the markets with this character, you may want to throw a few attribute points at Charisma for the Trade skills.
IIRC, the best characters for balanced attributes are Minmatar Sebiestor, Caldari Deteis, and Caldari Achura.

Thanks for the pointers, IŠll have to give my future role some better thought to decide between miner/hauler and research and such before I go ahead it seem.

I recently made a mining/industrial alt (mostly miner)
I did put in a plan for a maxed Hulk in evemon before creating him and it turned out to somewhere around 2.4M SP in spaceship command skills (Barge and Exhumer 5) and the rest in int/mem skills (9M total, 170 days with the attributes I ended up with and +3 imps, a bit shorter if you do the learnings according to evemon instead of finishing them early on) Add to that some skills for building and you're looking at very heavy towards int. I when Caldari Achura with +2 int and mem and +1 perc.
Adding a freighter to the plan would likely bump the perc/will bit up to around 5-6M, som you'd want to go a bit more balanced, but it doesn't make a huge difference either way.

I would stick the +3 points into per instead of Memory.
That would leave you with chr 6, int 10, mem 11, per 6, will 6. This would still allow you to train up ships without that really low Per 3 as a primary for ships and weapons. As a 6 its still a bit low but not too bad. Just don't waste a lot of time crosstraining different factions to fly.

Google the program Eve HQ. With this program you can create a character (without actually creating it in Eve). Then use the character you just created, schedule skills for him. See how long it takes you to get into a Hulk, or whatever your final plan is for him. Then create a few other characters or different attribute distribution(I personally recommend Caldari Deteis or Achura ^_^) and use the same skill plan. See what gets you to your goal faster.
