Kwik-Fit sued over staff radios.
It seems you are now infringing copyright by playing radios at work. I thought radio is a public broadcast service, surely the radio station is responsible for paying royalties?
What next, playing your car radio too loud may constitute a public broadcast and be liable for copyright infringement?
Another article here on the subject of the RIAA possibly targeting radio listeners next.

Welcome to the rest of your life. This sort of thing is getting to be very common and can only lead to the awful in-house "radio" that Asda et al play at you when you go shopping for rizlas and silk-cut at 4 am.
I know that this, or something very similar, has been raised before in OOPE.
Unfortunately, I am way too lazy to necro the relevant thread.
Could one of you guys do it, so we can close this one and carry on the discussion in the proper place?

It's not copyright laws. It's common fraking sense.
"If only there were a way to introduce people to our stuff without having to charge them for it. That way, if they like it, they can go buy the whole thing."
"Hey, I have an idea, let's charge them for the privilege!"
"Yeah, that can't possibly be the wrong way to do it."

And I'll just add: What's next, being charged an additional fee if we want to watch the previews at a movie? It's basically the same thing.

No, it's being charged a late fee if you turn up to the movies too late to catch all the previews. ----- Visible Implants - good for so many occasions |

Do you think that in a fascist state musicians will be free to create what they like? Please we would be back to the medieval days when the church set down the rules on which notes could be played and in what orders they were allowed.
