Im a n00b trader, just trying to get started on High-sec Empire trading, and was hoping to get some suggestions (even thoi know it might intrude on ppls trade secrects.)
As of now, i have a substantial capital, a freighter and determination. What i lack is good trade hubs to play. Jita is more or less obvious, but i wondered if any1 have any tips they care to share for places with good prices and huge volumes?
Any other kind of tips and tricks to get trading worth doing (and by that i mean generate atleast 300 mill profit per week), would be highly appreciated. If u dont mind letting me know of a fwe tips, but really dont want the entire universe to know, send me an Eve-mail or Convo me in game.

Yes. Yes you are.
Try to buy low, then sell high.
Trade hubs? They are blatently OBVIOUS if you bother to press F10 in game and select average number of players in space last 30 mins. Do that a few times and familerise yourself with the game you play.
Btw, coming in here and asking questions on how to make isk is tantamount to spamming local begging for ISK. It is one step above isk selling spam and just below beating your own children in public.
What I suggest is the following. Find out where Shardale operates and figure out what he is buying. Then go pick up a ton of whatever it is. Then move it back to his base of operations. Now do a 0.01 increase over his buy order. Now wait for the fun to begin.
Soon he will be having a hernia and increasing his buy order to "destroy" the market and drive you out. Thats when you dump your goods on him, walk away counting your cash and laughing at his perdictability.
This will work in practially every system as major traders tend to be infected by their own bloated carcasses. Slow to move, lazy and selfish. Perfect targets to smack upside the head with the market PVP stick.
You're welcome.

Start with what you now.
Travel to the major regions and inspect the market in items/ships/modules that you are familiar with. If you find any deals you think you could make some ISK on, go for it.
I'd keep the freighter docked if you don't have a use for it. An iteron does the job in most cases. <sig>

Edited by: Robacz on 14/10/2007 09:28:13 Hubs (in order of importance): Jita, Rens, Oursulaert, Amarr. Subhubs: Tash-Murkon Prime, Aunia, Motsu, Gelfiven, Nooni, Hek, "the system next to Orvolle :P", Agil.
No hub is comparable to Jita though, others are far far smaller.
What to trade? Obviously stuff lot of people have and lot of people want :). You need to go through market and check items with high volume and good difference between buy and sell prices. Use buy orders to buy and sell orders to sell. Free hint: attribute implants.
Anyway, there is a lot of trade guides around, so I suggest to do some reading in this forum.
Happy trading!

Edited by: Daeva Vios on 14/10/2007 10:05:15 Tip 1) Disregard what Taikun says. Do this and you'll probably make it.
Tip 2) Don't ask another trader how to make money. If they don't just blow you off, they'll likely actively mislead you.
Tip 3) Avoid the main trade hubs and even a few of the sub-hubs/mission hubs. There are other places to make money in this game, sometimes at a significant markup.
Tip 4) Seriously, read Tip 2 again.

The main hubs and their immediate surroundings are nice, but there are many secondary hubs, and these are too numerous to list. Look out for systems which are home to high-quality L3 and L4 agents in combat fields, 0.0 entry point systems, and what passes for the "capitals" of regions such as Everyshore and Khanid, less known to many players.
Learn the sources and end uses of items. Many essential PVP modules are common drops from NPCs of a select few factions, and they will often be dumped cheap in some low secs not far from their 0.0 home regions. A few runs in a frigate may result in death, or a 20-50% profit. Learn what the must-have items are.
Mission runners are even more lazy when it comes to offloading intermediate quality loot and trade goods.
Warp bubble demand near chokepoints is an ancient and competitive business, but check it out, and you might be lucky with skillbooks in NPC 0.0. If nothing else, at least it is a harmless illustration of the general principle.
The ore mix in a region will determine which minerals are in relative abundance, and which are in short supply.
This is also the case with ice and moon materials and derived components, although some knowledge of the manufacturing process is advisable. There are POS industry guides out there which will offer clues.
Mexallon forms a disproportionately high component of refined rat loot. Use this knowledge wisely.
Grind your way to tax-free refine (+6.67 effective standing) with a large and and popular NPC corp, and get those skills up. You can then buy some loot for less than its scrap value and ... profit. The payoff can take a while, but you will earn ISK during the grind.
A freighter will have its uses, but a transport, blockade runner, inty and covert ops will be of more practical day-to-day use. If you don't have them yet, they will open opportunities and save you a lot of hassle.
There is much else that you can work out for yourself, but this should get any newbie started.
And I don't think offering a slightly better pointer than "buy low, sell high, don't ask questions" is going to cost me any money either.

A couple more points I forgot
Tip 5) Learn to use the Market History.
Tip 6) Do the research. Knowledge really is power.

These two posts are completely 100% off topic. The ones quoted, however, have actual on topic parts to them. So the only one trolling here is StaplerKid.
As to the OP:
Jita is a hub, as you mentioned. Why is Jita a hub? Because it has tons of every item for sale. Using this logic it is quite easy to determine which systems are hubs in other regions. Just check the market in each region as you travel and see which has the biggest concentration of the items you like to trade. If you trade in missiles and missile launchers then finding a hub that doesn't trade these things in high quantity doesn't really help.
But as to specific help, you're not going to get much if you don't have the patience to help yourself or if you don't give away some information to help others first.
