Not sold it seems. Is 1b reserve really too high for a 4.5m SP char? |

Yes.
For anything under 10 mil you can go with a 100 mil ISK per 1 mil SP estimate.
Over 10 mil the price starts climbing depending mostly on what your char is specialised in.
A specialised research char, for example, would reach a nice price even if its total SP are low..
The most valuable are (good) capital ship pilots.
As per your char I would value it at 500 - 600 mil tops. (and no, it's not a bid  )
