Me too!
Client has been behaving wonderfully for many months, until the latest patch. Found my brand new Thanatos in the middle of a haven besieged by who knows how many dps, when the screen froze. Waited for several minutes trying various mouse maneuvers. Nothing budged. No movement except for the rounds being fired at me and the Haven rats flying.
At last I was able to get out of there by "Force Quitting" the Macintosh.

Exactly the same issues as marius gabinus above. Since 1.1 mouse input (actually, I'm using a trackpad) usually doesn't work properly. Right clicks produce context menus in the wrong places and trying to click and drag windows results in randomness, or nothing at all. Keyboard input seems fine. Once or twice I managed to right click and select Rest Camera, and that seemed to correct things for awhile.
Resizing between full screen and windowed at least twice has given me back mouse control. I once had it work flawlessly for an entire day after 1.1.2 and I thought it was fixed. Alas not. Have tried clearing my cache.
Client also crashes ALL THE TIME. No errors, just freezes. Can be on the logon screen or while sitting idle in a station - I can't see any pattern.
Late 2011 Macbook Pro @ 2.5GHz i7 8GB, 1GB Radeon HD6770M Lion 10.7.2 No mods, addons or funny business - it was a clean install only 2 months ago.
I'm not one for idle threats, and I haven't been playing the game much, so if this keeps up it's no biggie to just unsubscribe. It's not playable for me right now at all. |

As of 1.1.2. client now starts in windowed mode instead of full screen which it used too...
But interestingly in windowed mode... the fans are off. As soon as full screen mode is entered... fans sounds like jet engine taking off.

This is obviously a serious issue. Perhaps I have missed it elsewhere, but as the beta testers it would be nice to get some feedback from CCP. |

Eve Online (Not Mac Friendly)
Anyway I have an issue as well I was playing eve fine with the patch everything was dandy and then I turned the game off. Big mistake a half hour later when I try to get on eve again. I cant even open eve.... I can open it and see that eve is coming up and I see the 2nd thing in the dock and then nothing. My entire computer gets incredibly slow untill I force quit eve. It refuses to come back up and yes I have reinstalled eve twice now.... And im anoyed that ccp doesent even respond to any of our issues. We play your game to!

After a few successful starts, and quits, Mac will basically stop responding to anything. Have to do a power button reset. Have consistently had this problem after playing Eve for several months. Often nukes preferences like chat windows and overviews. Seeing more screen freezes and client crashes after moving back to 00--sorry, but that is crap.

I am having the same issue when I try to start Eve. I have a new IMac that is completely up to date with 8 Gb RAM. |

Hello all, I have had the problem where I would attempt to run my eve, the loadup screen saying cruciable will pop up, then it would dissapear, no client would start and my mac would have a lagfest until i forcequit. HOWEVER I have found a way around this. This includes deleting the cache and a bunch of preferences from your computer as well as all the previous patches. I am assuming that the latest patch made to macs were creating a conflict with pervious patches. anyways here we begin,
Open finder --> /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
Now that you are here
1) open cache and delete ALL folders and files within 2) open cache backup and delete ALL folder and files within 3) open settings and delete all except browser (saves your browser bookmarks)
I am currently in the process of seeing what else can be done to preserve the personal settings but heck I'd rather remake all my settings and whatnot than have to wait for a failed patch from transgaming, NOT CCP. Transgaming has already pissed me enough from another game they shut out...ahem...League of Legends...*cough cough*.
Anyway GL with macs! MACS FTW! ___
EDIT: I am assuming that if you only delete the patch files from the cache and cache backup folders the fix may be found without the loss of bookmarks and personal preferences which include all the chat groups you are subscribed to, market favorites, toolbar setup, overview setups. However personal bookmarks are not affected but game settings such as quality and station environment will be changed to default. I would be glad if someone could tell me if only deleting the patch files would allow EVE to run properly. I am currently in the process of remaking my chats and overview settings. |

Eve runs perfectly well and smoothly at high settings on my mac, bar one problem.
Every time I open the fitting screen while docked, the game crashes. Like many others, a power button reset is the only option.
From sniffing around the forums it seems this has become a common problem since crucible.
I can sometimes open the fitting screen from captains quarters (rarely) and always whilst in space (useless), but as I can't change modules the game is unplayable.

I must be doing something wrong. I tried to follow similar directions from another poster last night and I had no luck. I can browse as far as /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/ but after that there is no eve online folder. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I have not been using a Mac but for about 3 months so it may just be a learning curve for me. -frustrating |

Well, I don't know what I was doing wrong last night, but your instructions worked perfectly! :-) I am back in business. THANK YOU! |

Would like some of you to try something, and paste your results. Go to your /Users/your_username/Library/Application Support/EVE Online folder. Open "ftfontcache" file with text editor, and check to see if the fonts listed in this file correspond to the fonts you have in /System/Library/Fonts.
If so, note the size of this file (mine is 45kb), and find a backup from time machine or something PRIOR to the patch from Nov 26th when this all started. Check that file, and see what fonts are listed, and the size of thar file, then paste here. -¬ 2011 Facepalm Ops "No, you really don't wanna know." |

hi @ all,
i was having problems ever since crucible, NEVER before. its getting really annoying thats why i am here. i see i am not alone. apart from the more frequent crashes (2x per day) and the havoc right after one patch with docking crash for days. the most annoying problem i have is that the keyboard focus keeps changing all the time. i can be typing in the chat. suddenly the entire chat is scrolling through, keyboard become unresponsive and when responding its not typing in the chat, its giving short-cut commands. i dont know how often i was orbiting, approaching, targeting etc when i had my keyboard focus on the chat and it changed suddenly.
shock is the non existing response here from CCP. crucible is a disaster at this stage of development.
thanks Dracusio |

Yup, also common problem, as if the chat windows suddently have to "reload" and the focus follows. Irritating when you're typing an evemail and suddenly you're typing in some chat channel. -¬ 2011 Facepalm Ops "No, you really don't wanna know." |

Prior to november's patch, they DID used to delete themselves, or at least they downloaded and unpacked to another directory.. probably /tmp.
However I do not believe the patch files themselves have anything to do with the lag. What is more likely going on is in the rest of the cache files being read, and having those resources loaded. Although it's seemingly fixed, I would stand to believe that in a few weeks to a few months, as teh cached files build up again, the same issues will present themselves. -¬ 2011 Facepalm Ops "No, you really don't wanna know." |
