Ok, so I re-read the article on the november patch and read this
To show off its shininess we're adding a host of Tech II ships that include the eerie Black Ops, the spearheading Marauders and the warp-jamming Heavy Interdictors, not to mention the lockdown terrors that are the Electronic Attack Ships, and the masters of the supply chain, the Jump Freighters.
See the bit in bold? Has this been discussed before? If so where can i get more info?

yer its old news I think they are entirely new freighter types btw and not just adding existing jump drives to the old one's.

Ooooh, jump freighters. That makes sense, Oveur had said somewhere that there would be 20 new ships in Rev3, but there were only 16 known so far, so these must be the other 4.
Maybe now carriers will start being used more as combat vessels instead of glorified haulers.

I've heard the placeholders on sisi show them having about 1/4 the cargo of a freighter, so they won't be replacing them, just a new way to move stuff. ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP need...more room... |

unless they just changed when I saw I'd estimate about 1 third on base stats of course freighters get cargo bonus not sure if these do, if they don't it will end up being about 1 quater.

I'd say that depends on the jump range of them, they will have to equal or better carriers to be used for most jumping.

They already introduced the jump freighter, it's called the Rorqual  -- eve-guides.com Includes all about POSs, outposts, tech II production, item database and much much more. |
