Edited by: Sathorus on 15/10/2007 13:09:54 Mother Corp [MUMCO] regrets to announce that they have been the victim of corp theft by one of our original members.
'A lifetaker' has used his position as a trusted friend (both in game and RL) to steal 1billion ISK from us.
He had access to the corp master wallet and decided he didn't have enough morals or respect for his friends.. after taking the ISK he posted this message to the corp:
Quote:
hello all, i decided to leave mother because of the temptation to take 1 bil out of your wallet, i did and i am quite sorry for it, but i couldn't resist the temptation.
well cya all fly safe i wish the best to mother i am sure u guys will make a new 1B once the obelisk's are sold again ;)

Although he is likely to remain in high-sec space, as of the 15th October 2007 there is a standing bounty of 10mil ISK every time he gets PODed, until further notice.
'A lifetaker' currently has approx 11mil SP and has just purchased a Dominix, although his skills do not allow him to fly it to full advantage. He likes to use sensor dampners and ECM drones.
Last known location is in the Federation Navy Station at Dodixie IX - Moon 20 (Sinq Laison region)

Sorry to hear this. There are ways of getting him back but the EULA stops me discussing it.
1 billion is nothing in the grand scheme of things, he'll burn that up and be completely poor, and with no corp.
I shouldnt worry mate. Swings and roundabouts.

Thanks Izo
You are right, 1 billion is not much at all these days.. we will soon make that again, but he has lost the friendship forever.
He's also put his RL friend, who is a corp member in a very awkward position... sad

It's a game... just because he broke your trust with that corp theft , doesn't mean he would do the same IRL. (well might have been more likely than the average person , but still) It looks like he didn't plan this theft at all , might have robbed much more with some trickery. Maybe he just feels too guilty to lie to his friends ?
1b loss stings a bit , but now you have a nice chase ahead of you. Once he gets podded a few dozen times there should be no harsh feelings left

Edited by: Zerolaws on 15/10/2007 15:16:32 I kindly suggest you including the name (and your post here with the mail as a proof) in the Firtz's well maintained list of EVE thieves and scammers with a post of your own. Sorry for the loss, and more for the disappointment. But his/her loss is the greatest and will be eternal, IMHO, don't forget that.

One option available to you is to tell each corp he joins about the theft, and send mercs at those who decide to harbor him. You get the satisfaction of vengeance and the comfort of knowing that you are putting food in the mouth of many a merc's family!

That's a good idea. Check what corps he joins periodically and send an e-mail to CEO warning him about this guy being a corp thief. The CEO can of course not believe you completely but he or she will be much less likely to trust him with access to anything expensive. Some will just boot him from their corp right away no questions asked because they do not want to deal with potential corp thieves.
