EAS are mentioned twice in the CSM meeting minutes. Once in reference to Super Carriers, "The CSM mentioned allowing Electronic Attack Ships to impact ewar-immune vessels as a possible fix" to Titan tracking allowing the quick removal HICs holding them on the field.
Secondly in terms of ship classes and game balance.
"Electronic Attack Ships: The CSM would like Electronic Attack Ships to impact ships that are immune to electronic warfare, such as supercapitals. The CSM noted that to rebalance EAS properly, EAS will need more survivability and combat functionality, in addition to being able to impact ewar-immune ships"
As a class Electronic Attack Ships need to be addressed. While the kitsune is pretty effective, for the cost it's more effective to just use a blackbird. Are they the next ships to be buffed? If so should we start stocking up on EAF BPOs and their T1 frigate counter parts? |

You got me, my typing is sometimes illegible, looks like I over completed my 'C' and made it look like and 'O'. BPC is what I meant. |

I did read about that in the CSM blog, that and reworking command ships as T3 version are currently far superior.
It does seem like it may take a long time after all it took, what, two years for AFs to get their much needed buff? I'd like to expect that CCP is working a little harder on iterating ships nowadays, and the two worst-off ship classes seem to Electronic Attack Frigates and Command Ships (yes, slep in uber) but will that reflect in in A) CCP taking action and B) A rise in the market? I dunno.
Never to early to speculate though! |

I cannot tell you how hard I get thinking about neutering a super with a Keres EAF. tbh, it seems a bit unbalanced for a single frigate (even a specialty one) to cripple a super/titan. That being said, I also don't think supers should have complete ewar immunity. But they should have very robust electronic systems. Sensor strength and warp core stability in the triple digits. They are already de facto immune to webs and painters.
The only remaining problem is sensor damps. Due to game mechanics you cannot just buff them like the others. But you could give supers a percentage reduction in effectiveness of damps used on them as a role bonus.
Perhaps you could use an EAF to hack a POS or can. Just some ideas.
Wait, this is MD. Not F&I. I don't think we'll see any EAF changes within the next year. But you never know. "How do you kill that which has no life?" |
