Edited by: MR Wa1sh on 16/10/2007 06:54:55 Edited by: MR Wa1sh on 16/10/2007 06:54:00 My first Mega
Hi- 7x Regulated Ion Blasters 1x Heavy missile launcher
Med- 1x Cap recharger II 1x Heavy cap booster 1x Langour Web 1x j5 warp disruptor
lows- 1x large 'Accommodation' rep 1x Med 'Accommodation" rep 3x N-type active hardeners (therm, ken, expl) 1x damage control II 1x Mag Feild stab II
I have posted this els where but with little response - one suggestion was switch out the med rep for a 1600 plate - and posably a MWD replacing the recharger II.
Im not sure i see the benefit in th plate as it lows DPS tanking although i would last a little longer once the tank is broken. My thinking was higher Dps i can take before tank breaks was better than watching it break easly then slowly fall. I would put two large in if it didn't take WAY to much cap as i want to be able to stay around for a while.
any input would be great
thanx

The plate is good because you will not tank 100% of the damage from a similarly skilled battleship pilot in the vast majority of situations. It helps you live longer.
Definately ditch the med rep. An MWD is essential and recharger needs to go. So far you've got the changes right.
Here's a good and fun mega build:
7 neutrons
heavy cap booster/ web / disruptor / mwd
3 magnetic field stabilizers / 2 1600mm plates / 1 damage control / eanm
That's right, no rep. The idea is to go in someones face with the MWD, do extreme damage and kill them before they kill you. And it works.

You need to fit a MWD. You need to get into blaster range, and blaster range = you just bumped the other ship.
You need a heavy electrochemical injector w/ 800s if your running an armor repper. You can get by with a medium electrochemical injector w/ 800s if your running plates without a repper.
You need a web. The optimal on blaster cannons is tiny, and their tracking isn't that hot, even on a Mega. Your going to need to keep your target close and your transversal low.
Either a 24km or j5 warp disruptor is a good idea. Whichever you have CPU for.
Then either fit neutrons, 2x 1600mm plates, damage control, 1x explosive hardner, 1x energized adaptive nanomembrane, and 2x magnetic field stabs with 3x trimark armor pumps. The idea being to blow their head off before they can get through your plates + structure.
Or you can fit an active tank and then attempt to fit whatever guns you have powergrid left to fit. Consider running a 1600mm plate + large repper over a large + medium repper. Their going to break your tank. It takes almost 2.5 minutes of constant repping for a medium armor repper to rep the amount of armor a single 1600mm plate gives you, and if they will kill you in less than 2.5 minutes, your actually getting more hps out of the plate than the repper.

very similar setup to mine just a few changes.
drop the missile launcher and try to squeeze a heavy nos, also drop the cap recharger and fit a MWD, since you need to close up fast with a blasterthron.
on lows i may suggest drop the medium repper, upgrade the large one to tech 2 and fit another mag stab II or the armor plate, just decide if you want gank or tank.
on a gang if want to risk try to fit 1x large repper 2, 3x EANM 2 and 3x mag stab II so you get max dmg while still capable to tank with less cap issues.

Rolled Tungsten is the best in every respect-lowest mass addition and highest armor boost.
And maybe consider swapping the recommended EANM for an explosive hardener to seal your resists hole. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

Edited by: King GeorgeV on 16/10/2007 22:48:31 for max dmg,
7 neutron IIs with void and null mwd, disruptor, web, cap booster 3 mag stab IIs, dmg control II, eanm II, 2 rolled tungsten
rigs: trimark/pwr grid if u need
with ogre IIs it does around 1000dps, depending on skills obviously
edit; just realised that this was already posted, but screw it, and 2 large rps is a must for active tank on th mega.
