Edited by: Tarminic on 16/10/2007 18:52:30 I recently made a post in general discussion about the problems caused by the new modifications to ore and compression in Revelations 3, and how this shows developer sympathy towards certain players, but thatÆs not all. I watch these forums a lot and I think you guys know a lot about politics (especially the posts by WhatIsItGoodFor) but theres something that youre missing here that IÆve uncovered.
Mercenary Coalition IsnÆt Done Fighting Yet
ThatÆs right people, MC may say that theyÆre not on contract anymore (and goons say thet theyre ****ed off at Bob) but its neither of those reasons, and mercenary coalition will still be fighting on BoBs side but in a more subtle way. Red alliance has kind of the same idea but they might not be as organized so it wont work. But before I start IÆll review what I posted in the other forum: ---------------------------------------------- Basically the fact that CCP is making mineral compression not work as much anymore is because low end mineral prices will go up and make Chribba richer because CCP wants to pay him back for making all his eve related websites (the link is in my sig by the way). ----------------------------------------------
But this is only really half of whatÆs going on here! MC is going to be using capitals or supercapitals (they have a lot) to camp lowsec without having to worryàbut despite what some people may think this isnÆt being done just for ****s and giggles û Mercenary Coalition will be fighting the export of minerals from empire before the compression nerf goes through.
Why are they doing this? Because this is part of SirMolleÆs plan to win the war (though his alliance is like him being the one-eyed man in the land of the blind lol)! It to halt the production of all capital ships not a part of Bob or his allies who are also involved in this plan (Dark SHikari is good with the markets to he may have planned it*)àbut how to do this without having to actually invade and risk lots of their own ships in the process?
Keep competing alliances from having enough low-end minerals to build them
Everone knows that the majority of low end minerals are made in high sec, compressed, and then moved out to 0.0. But CCP is nerfing mineral compression and making it taking it down to 0.0 to make capital ships with (from the first eve econ dev blog) and if MC blocks all lowsec gates with their capital ships but only take out ships carrying modules they can pretty much keep most low end minerals from leaving empire space (and more for Chribba lol) and therefore make people miner their own out in 0.0...but they can do this much more slowly than other minerals so it very much limits their production of capital ships, and those are essential to removing Poses and other things like taking out other capital ships (kind of like the civil war).

All this is part of their plan to win the war, so you have to watch out and keep this from happening to you (RA, TFC, AAA, IAC though youre in trouble already) but this is very very important. You can write this off as just another post in these forums or flame and troll all you like (though thatÆs kind of like 80s fassion, and is very lame) but you should really take some time. Think of it like this:
1. MC is like the philharmionic orchestra and SirMolle and DS are the composers (both of them are just too much of a weird thing, like those razors with 4 blades)
2. MC is called the mining coalition sometimes àmaybe there is more to this than just a joke?
3. If you lose, youll wish you had listened to me
Otherwise you guys could end up dead like Ophelia in Othello (I saw the 1982 movie versionàthe girl was cute what can I say) because of your own actions.
Also, I heard that SirMolle has 1 glass eye in real life? D you? ---------------- Stop Developer Preference! |

They are called this cause it's pretty much what they do when they're not on contract.
MC have a NRDS policy (IIRC) in general. So IIRC, they don't do alot of roaming to other regoins to find pvp. About the only pvp they are allowed to do is hunt pirates in low sec. So you're thoery about them camping gates in low sec (which sounds like piracy and the opposite to NRDS) is probably alot off the mark, but nice try.

You are correct that low-end mins are needed in 0.0, and yes alot of people import them from empire. What you are missing is the means that they import them.
Unless you live close to Empire, I seriously doubt you use Freighters to move minerals in. Most of the low-ends we've imported in the past were done via Carrier jumps and module compression.
My point is that camping a gate, or even ALL gates into 0.0 would not stop Jump-capable ships. So although I agree its desireable to wage economic warfare, I really don't think its possible.

The link in my sinature helps to explain that too since the mineral nerf changes how you have to haul things to 0.0 and also explains why Chribba does what he does (compressed veldspar). ---------------- Stop Developer Preference! |

he doesn't mean gates to 0.0 but gates from high sec to low sec systems from which carriers jump the minerals. ________________________________________

I don't know which part of your tin foil fuelled had tirade made me laugh the most, but that part is good. You cannot be serious right? MC blocking *ALL* lowsec gates with their mighty capital fleet?
You think they would enjoy that? You think they have enough capitals?
You think that doing that would stop other alliances jumping their capitals to low sec to lug materials back to 0.0 if they felt like it now? You know how hard instadocking carriers are to stop from cynoing in and well instadocking?
Made me smile at least, I don't doubt that some alliances with the more superior logistics and knowledge will now be taking advantage of the pre-rev3 period, but it being a massive Bob/Dark Shakri/MC conspiricy... well its a nice story.
