Hey there
Trying to decide on what the best fitting for my Apoc would be for some good NPCing.
I'm thinking I could go
- 6 megas, 2 defenders
- 4 megas, 2 defenders, 2 tachyon
- 2 megas, 2 defenders, 4 tachyon
for the hi slots
Mabye some shield hardeners, shield booster, damage mod, tracking mod. Kinda new to the BS fitting, so any of you Apoc tankers if you want to share your secrets it'd be appreciated

I don't fly an apoc, but I know some people who do. And I know some of them have had a lot of success with tanking armor instead of shields. You need a large armor repairer, and at least one of those 1600mm armor upgrades. But from what I understand it works pretty well.

Hum...hadn't really thought of that, the thought of letting shields get down to 0% kinda scares me, but I'd like to talk to them, if you could provide some contact info or something; that'd be great __________

the strong point on all amarr ships is the armour (amarr-armour) kinda similar. most people fail to utelize it effectivly because it is hard to regain armour hp, nothing like shield, and frankly might just be scared to loose armour hp but the 1600mm plates can go quickly if you dont have some way to back it up such as resistance ...............................................
Striking you.

Well i fly a apoc and this is my setup:
High: 5 1400's Howitzer 2 800 repeating artillery 1 smartbomb
Med: 1 mwd 1 L armor harderner 1 tracking comp
Low: 2 1600 armor plates 2 electric amror harderners 4 cap boosters and stuff
this setup would keep youre cap up and running for a long time since the projectile guns dont use much cap so you can boost up youre shield or armor better and spend cap on thouse. Also have a full drone bay of heavy's

That looks like an arma set-up to me, with the 3 mid and 8 low slots...
For a good apoc shield tank setup you need an XL booster, an EM ward and a heat ward in you mid slots. The fourth slot could have a shield amp.
Lasers are the way to go with the apoc, so I'd say 4 tachs, 2 medium guns and a couple of missile launchers in the high slots.
Fill out your low slots with cap relays (until they get nerfed that is).

Edited by: Dajjal on 24/02/2004 11:32:41 Hi 3 Tachyons 1 1400 2 Heavy Launchers 2 Smartbomb
Med 1 XL Booster 1 Shield Amp 1 EM Ward 1 other shield hardner type dependent on need
Lo lots of Cap rechargers altho i need a PG/CPU boost
Tachyons are great up to optimal range 1400 good for weakening target while over optimal
fill hold with cruise and/or heavies for launchers (defenders if u like em - i prefer the SBs)
Apoc can only carry 6 heavies so i would suggest ogres and only bring them out when u really need close support - using them to attack will just lose u drones
the mid slot and cap recharges mean u can effictively shield tank but u lose the option for damage mods this way - it would be best to trial run the set up against corp mates to see how much tanking u will require for the NPCs u will be facing against the amount of damage u want to do
i prefer tachyons over megas as they seem to do more consistent and better damage. 3 radio 3 gamma/Xray and 3 multi crystals for the tachs as swapping out crystals takes no time at all and u can cover a lot of range this way
1400 i carry fusion, nuclear and plasma
/edit - i missed out an SB _______________________

High slots 5 - Mega Beams with X-Ray's (good range and damage) 1 - Heavy Beam with Multi (good close support with damage) 2 - Mid size smart bombs (kinetic and explosive) Mid slots 1 - Large shield booster (get a named one if possible) 2 - Shield amps 1 - 15% cap (or anything else you think you need *hardeners*) Low slots 1 - Damage mod (named one if possible) 6- Cap relays
This set up works nice for all frigets and Cruiser npc's but Bship's will prob be a problem cus of the L shield Booster might not be able to hold out but its a good 0 ammo useage set up for long npc hunting and you wont get hit by missiles ever... _______________________________ What was that? |

8x 425mm carbide rails or 7 + launcher with defenders. EM+thermal+shieldbooster +MWD/shieldamp/kinetic RCUs: 1 if you use 7 and no MWD. 2 if you use 7 + mwd. 3 if you use 8 + MWD. 0/1/2 Vortex/tech 2 damagemods depending on how many RCU you need. 4 cap relays in the other slots.

setup for apoc with 18750 grid / 600 cpu (elec/engin 5)
4 x 1400mm 2 x 1200mm 2 x h50 --- 1 x tracking cpu 1 x something* 2 x cap II --- 2 x 1600mm 1 x large armor repairer 3 x hardener 1 x rcu
I think you run out of grid because of the 1600's... so maybe drop a hardener or somthing.. I thought of that setup in the last 30seconds so maybe it will give you some creative ideas. [LEGEND] *putitemhere
*30seconds after first post*
I had aheavy cap injector and with 2 1600s I would bet 2 isk it goes over the grid (and most likely the cpu also).. so i took it outta the setup.
