I've been playing eve since 2005 and i'm returning after a years absence creating a new char and starting all over I would buy one but there isnt many to choose from and the price IS RIDICULOUS seriously WTF happend to push prices up so damn high???
Anyone care to enlighten me???

It's true, ccp needs to do something about 100 mil per sp.
right now its like 300 mil per mil sp, so stupid

You also got to consider that the capital skills alone cost like 1b. And 100 m per m sp is ridicilous low, 6b for 60 mio sp char?

I've seen 4-6 mil sp chars that have none of those 100+ mil skills go for 250-300 mil per 1 mil sp. Well-trained characters of course should cost more, but alts than can at best fly not even a T2 fitted bs mediocre costing that much? I think in the past year a lot of people figured they could use game time codes to get the ISK necessary. Why wait 3-4 months when you can pay $200 and get yourself a nice starter character. Because they do not grind for this ISK for days and weeks in game, they don't care if they overpay.

You are not taking specialisation into account. People will pay for what they want and not what other buyers wish to get cheaper.

Why should CCP do anything about it? Its a player driven market just the same as ingame. I know what CCP can do. This next patch they could introduce characters to the NPC market! This way they can remain at a constant price! Just order up your character and pay a the 100m isk per 1m SP.
Once they are on there, we can all go and sell GTCs and get lots of isk so everyone ingame can be 70m SP uber players! That will be awesome for the game play!!!
Maybe when this goes through they can even make it so that All ships can be in Empire, then we can blob Jita while tanking CONCORD!

If it was now 50mill per mil SP, how come i have a feeling you wouldn't pay 100mil per?
Maybe you should wait till 2009 when you're 12.

the question is quite ligit... but for the answar. well people sell time cards now and alot of older players buy them for pasive income... and ccp is gaining the money anyhow so why should they care.
But if u want a char with the skills u need the are exspensive to make so why not get a decent price for them... but some chars that have ****ty atributes and bad skill compination often go for alot just because they got one skill some people simply don't care... they just want a alt here and now.
I Guess that is why the price is so high... something more to say about that... but maybe u should have posted this on another forum... not in auction channel, when it is a discussion.
