I have heard that CCP is killing off empire ice belts? Is this true? Links?

this was done a few patrches ago, they took away all ice belts 0.6 and higher if my memory serves me right

must be 0.7 and up as I'm currently sitting in a nice belt of ice in 0.6

I'm in a 0.6 system right now that has 3 ice belts nice and full. I'm also 3 jumps from a 0.7 system with 2 ice belts. So if they nerfed it then they must have done a horrible job :p

Saw mentioned in another post mentioning the same thing (saying they have a month left, so I went back through patch notes, and the only mention of anything of the sort was in 30636; "# Ice belts have been removed from all systems with 0.8+ security standing."
So unless someone can point out a place where anything else has been confirmed, I very much doubt it's true (as currently there are belts in 0.7 space).

if memory serves me right they made it so that they dont regenerate so the low high sec ones dont get mined as much as they have weak rats that noobs are scared of and macros have a harder time dealing with

There are still ice belts in some high sec systems, I know we buy fuel out of them. Trust me, if all empire ice got nerfed, the price of ice products would increase dramatically. It's a resource everyone needs, and POS are rather ravenous for the stuff.
And AliasXNeo, your sig is going to get nerfed real soon.
Edit: Ans Blix, try www.fluidorbit.co.uk It hasn't been updated with some of the belt nerfs that removed them from high-load systems yet, though.

A few patches ago they turned off the respawn of ice in some of the empire locations. So once its gone, it should be gone.

This is exacly correct,this turned off the respawn for all high sec ice belts,meaning once you mine through the 100000 ice units in a belt no more high sec ice,should be done mining that in 2.5 years :P
