Greetings to all, and a thank you in advance to all who choose to reply whether or not you disaggree with my views.
Now onto buisness... I would like to get as many views as possible on the corruption of the caldari state, while i'm not a man of many words, i'll list what i've noticed.
1: The claim that improving the state is benefical for all who live there.... take into consideration the high level of homelessness, even taking into consideration the nature of the megacorporations... wouldnt it be beneficial to raise these people from their current economical circumstances? Perhaps even beneficial to the megacorporations greed? such a potential workforce left to rot... unless of course, they have other uses for them... though i havent been able to gain access to the statistics of missing persons among the homless as of yet...
2: Scientific Greed While a certin level of posseivness over military technologies can be understandable, the fact that most technologys within the state are nailed down within a mass of paperwork and copyrights making it difficult to truely improve the whole, and the scientists themselves.. either caught in the mindset the state wants them to have, or forced to appear to maintain it to prevent themselves from being imprisoned... or even murdered from what i've heard.
These are the two issues which came to my mind first and foremost, and yes, before anyone says anything... i know i have some grammatical issues, and i am looking for potential public relations officers to hire that will be far more eloquent then I... now for those willing to constructively discuss such issues.. feel free to go ahead and reply

TAKAGI Corp have its own data about the current decadence of the State. We're monitoring the situation, concerned by the security threats the lowering of power of the chief panel executive might have for the Federation.
You speak about "corruption of the State", but your statement does not publish anything on this matter, so I won't elaborate on this although there is much to say. What we can say is that the gigantic corporations are thriving in the Caldari state to a point where their power greatly surpasses the State power, wich is a matter of concern.
A matter of concern to us, the Federation, because we much prefer having for neighbor a safe and stable State, where security and basic rights for humans are guaranteed. But it is also a matter of concern for the Caldari people itself, as the greed of the corporation seems to have no end and that the people's happiness or needs careness are completely forgotten. This could lead to massive protests and riots and could turn apart the whole Caldari State.
We, at TAKAGI Corp, have several cases under surveillance. We are trying to detect where and when the Caldari State fails, because where it fails, harm can be done on the Federation. We will welcome any substantial information you can provide on theses subjects.

We all know that the State is corrupt, it has been since long before the Caldari/Gallente war and will propably be long into the future.

Edited by: Roy Gordon on 19/10/2007 12:41:32 Alright then, lets take both of the points you have raised.
1. Homelessness. This may at first seem an unjust situation to an outsider, but, there is always another side to the coin. These 'homeless' citizens have just as good an opportunity to raise themselves up and become gainfully employed as any of you out there. There are dozens, nay, hundreds, of corporations out there, each of them looking for willing employee's. For the homeless there is only one way, and that is up. They have something to look forward to, the prospect of becoming employed and looked after by a corporation.
2. Scientific Greed. Again, look at this from an economic stand point. It gives an incentive for all corporations to healthly compete for the market. If inventions and new discoveries were widely disseminated upon discovery, why bother to invest and invent yourselves? This would inevitably lead to one or two corporations dominating the market, not a thing we Caldari would wish to see. We live in a competitive environment where all corporations vie for an edge. 'Competition is the mother of invention' is our watch word. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. I'd like to see one company anywhere in New Eden that employs homeless bums that probably smell of sewer water, which is a side effect of living on the street by the way. Not even local fast food joints will employ someone who looks like the leftovers of what they serve. You do kinda need to at lest give the people somewhere dry to sleep and the means to not smell like a sack of dead fedos beforehand.

Of course you dont employ people of questionable hygiene in the food services industry, that would be insanity.
Much better to employ them in the heavy labor areas, at least thats where we send the brutors. --- ΞνΞ ΘΠLІΠΞ |

Most places no matter how dirty and undesirable the job is require that the employee to at least be somewhat clean during the interview last thing you want is to need a gas mask when talking to them.
If you mean employment by slavery well that isn't really being employed is it considering you don't actually pay slaves and that's a bit of a crappy tradeoff really. Theres plenty of rumors about the well being of the slaves some people keep as well so I doubt you'd get many takers for the idea. ------------

Whilst the Caldari State lacks some of the moral and intellectual integrity of the Amarr Empire, it's nowhere near as corrupt as the Gallente Federation and the Minmatar Republic.

Corruption is a misnomer arousing from a biased understanding of Caldari politics. The appropriate term is "proper payment".It is only fitting that those in power charge a fee for their services. We do it all the time when a corporation asks for our help.
The business ethics of our state have demonstrated time and again that the proper application of power and knowledge results in greater opportunity for the truly productive members of our society. The incompetent and lazy deserve what they get. We are not a nanny-nation nursing its citizens.
I am living proof that humble beginnings do not mean a life of poverty. As for the red tape concerning our technological advances, it is the basis of our naval forces. We must protect it at all costs, lest we fall to our competitors.
I feel that the state must do what it does to preserve our competitive edge. In the long run, every citizen will benefit from that.

The people at the Newport family are social Caldari entrepeneurs. We've been looking after the homeless for 3 generations now.
To establish a good relationship with some customers, we've been able to relocate a many homeless in the taking care of a Caldari Corporation in order to justify the discount on the minerals they would obtain from us. If they wanted more discount, they had to take in more homeless in the deal.
It has been accused off by some Gallente Politicians as "corruptive dealings and money laundering with disregard and total lack of respect for human rights."
It is just not my experience, I have yet to meet the heartless corporation that would say no to the discount and object to take in the homeless.

Citizens of the Caldari State have been failed by their government since before the war. Signing a charter in good faith, and then breaking the agreement when one feels like it? How can any Caldari with functioning senses even make the argument? The failure in policy doesn't end there, though. For a state that "opposes" slavery, I see a rather large amount of Caldari State vessels supporting slave raiding actions within Federation borders. The Amarr, while deplorable for even attempting such actions within our boundaries, are at least vocal and honest about their support of slavery.
Certainly, the Federation isn't perfect, but we at least can look at ourselves at the end of the day, and know we were honest, we were right. Nothing that the Caldari could do will change the fact that they are more duplicitous than any other faction in New Eden, be it Minmatar, Amarr, Gallente, or even Jove.
I can't speak for my corporation, but I can speak for myself, and say that I would welcome a return of formal hostilities. At least then, the Caldari would be honest, for once.

karanth you sound like and extreme right wing patriot.
Allegations of corruption without documentary evidence to support such an argument are just that, allegations. Whilst it is undeniable that in any political circle corruption and dishonesty are highly likely there seems to be a misunderstanding of the caldari governing body. As a group of rival megacorporatins the individual corps themselves are held acountable for there own actions. Underhanded practial business conduct, corruption, backstabbing etc. are a part of daily lie in any corporation. The fact that these corporations act indepedntantly of each other and the government realey vetos another corps practises due to the amount of beurocratic effort to raise an issue with the C.E.P means that allegations of corruption cant be labbeled as "The State's" corruption, and can be most often be put down to one corps wrong-doing. Nobody is claiming the state to be a utopic society however it is this inter-corp rivalry and willingness to to take extreme measure that propels our State to glory. Homelessness is an issue in any nation i can tell you that, and as for the secrecy surrounidng new technology this is nessescary to maintain the corporate advantage. Lai Dai invents product A then it must at all costs be kept from Suuk. and the others. Capsule pilots allthough are the elite are lucky to even have acces to this technology and asking for the grounds to undercut the corps that made them and sponsored capsulerr programs in the first place is near treason. The lucky few who play the reasearch companys and receive new technology EARN those items as you EARN everything within our state.

So, rather than a corrupt government, it is a feeble and ineffectual one? Hmm.
There are large, powerful factions within the State clamoring for the blood of the Federation. That the State would rather aid slavers, and other underhanded activities, considering who controls it, rather than commit to a real war, smacks of a failure calling itself a nation. More than anything, I hate ambiguity, and the State is the very quintessence of such wishy-washy waffling in this matter. Either grow a pair, commit, and deal with our history in part two of the war, or decide that lasting peace is the way for your people, and follow that path. Just don't sit in the middle, thinking that is a viable position.

Edited by: Cypress Cavalero on 27/10/2007 11:31:43 ambiguity and indecisivness from your nation is what allowed us to evacuated caldari prime in the first place, and a Democracy is a most old fashioned and innefectual governmeant, how can you continue to strive towards anything when your people are squabbiling over the age rating of certain holo-flicks in the different regions?
An open public democracy is one of the most corrupt forms of government you can take, propaganda so easily spread through your "free" media. The difference is you actually have fooled everyday people into choosing the desired path. People are most easily controlled when they believe they are free.

Has the State gone weak to listen to Federation propaganda? Name one famous Gallente figure. The Gallente couldn't even organise a simple orbital bombardment. All technological advances have come from the Caldari, the Federation is weak and decadent. It is only a question of time before their federation falls and Caldaris walk under the skies of Caldari Prime
The State has never been fascist like the Republic and we aren't decadent and weak. We fought a war to be independent of Federation interference. Our State was founded by the noble sacrifice of Admiral Tovil-Toba, who enbodies every Caldari virtue: discipline, loyalty, sacrifice and love of freedom. It was the State that evaculated its citizens when attacked by the Gallente. No greater demonstration of the virtues of the State can be given - the Federation has never sacrificed so much for its citizens.
The State doesn't force people to be part of it they are free to go. Disagree with the Federation and they attack you.
The citizen's of the State know sacrifice and loss, we lost our home planet, and if it weren't for our ancestors noble sacrifices we wouldn't be free from the oppression of the Federation.
One day the Caldari will walk under the skies of Caldari Prime when it is freed from the yoke of Federation tyranny.
Remember the sacrifices of the past, Caldari Citizen's and don't listen to the decadent and degenerate Federation propaganda. Let not Tovil-Toba's sacrifice be in vain!

The only corruption within the Caldari State is those within it who do not help the State or themselves.
The cooperation between the State and the Amarr Empire has nothing to do with Corruption, rather fighting it and combating jealous terrorists.

I have employed dozens of so-called 'Homeless' citizens. There is aways a need for unskilled labour. I dont care how dirty a person is, or how they look, all I care about is the fact that they can do the assigned job. Who does not need the outside of their ships regularly cleaned? Who does not need good moved to and from their hangers and storage bays? See, lots of opportunities for them. That which does not kill us makes us stronger.
