Although there wasn't a lot of risk this time, the mear fact that it even could happen is just downright Scary. ___________

Thats not really the military...its the Air Force.
It doesnt suprise me. Out of all the services, they are the laziest by far! The Airforce runs itself just like any other 9to5 (Actually, probably more like 9to noon)job with some exceptions. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. It is not about that.
It is about proper handling of nuclear weapons which at least in the US is still taken seriously.
The plane sat overnight with nukes on its wing apparently unguarded and was likewise unguarded for a bit upon arrival till someone figured out just what was there.
What if the plane had crashed? Such things have happened in the past. A nuke will not detonate from a crash but if no one knows there are there what about radioactive hazards to emergency response folks? If no one knows they are there how does the government know to send someone out ASAP to secure them?
Nothing bad happened in this case it seems but it is a very serious lapse in procedure. Procedure placed for a VERY good reason. They're nukes for chrissake!

Nah...still is which is why there was such a fuss about this. Clearly these jokers got lazy but it is not something we are cool with.

I think the key adjective you missed was 'accidental'. Nuclear weapon equipped *whatevers* should not do anything accidentally, particularly when then investigation highlights "widespread disregard for the rules on handling such munitions".

What he said. The risk this time was relatively minimal. The mistake wasn't bad THIS time, but the mear fact that there could be a mistake like this at all is the scary part. ___________

Welcome to like a month ago.
This was one of Jimmy's tin hat theories. The plane flying across the US and being shot in the media would divert our attention to it and then something about all ground forces being grounded on a friday which according to Jimmy something bad in the US was going to happen and we would run in terror which would bolster the governments regime.
Unfortunatly ground forces were in the air on the day Jimmy stated and nothing bad happened.
I also noticed that he had stated, but later edited, that one of the nukes came up missing but they're all accounted for still.

Only reason I am worried is because there are too many more idiots that may upset the importance of my recording of that Juggler to the Darwin Awards.
