Hey guys, i just killed someone but apparently rats had the final blow. Any way i can get a copy of that mail? Petition or something similar?
ps: the dude won't give it to me, since he went crazy after the fight..

I wouldn't petition it. I don't think there's anything you can do.
Pirate killed me once, rat took the kill, he asked me for the KM. I tried to get him to pay me for it. He refused. I gave it to him anyway. I guess that's the best you can hope for.

Ouch. What's with the killmail frenzy. Why not just PVP for the fun of it? The killmail e-peen mania is part of what's wrong with EVE PVP in my opinion.

Oh well, i can kiss that km goodbye than, because he won't give it to me.

Btw the rat stealing killmain is a sort of strange situation i once had someone eve mail me after a fight where i got out with 5% hull left for the kilmail since obviusly the rats stole it.

If the guys an ass and wont give it you, google to see if his corp has a killboard and grab it there (if hes not a muppet and posts his losses), check on battleclinics killboard in a few days see if its been synced from anywhere, or just carry on and forget about it, im sure there will be plenty more :)

Ironically the Killmail is killing the immersion value of EVE PvP and making it more like Counterstrike in space where what's on the board is all that matters no matter what you have to do to get it...pretty sad.
PS- not directed at the OP just my thoughts in general.

KB stats can be important for pvp corps, especially merc groups, as a record for prospective clients, as well as the leaders of the corp itself (activity levels, whos just sitting at home ratting etc etc).
