Annoying crashes? Are you referring to the emergency shutdown yesterday?
You spent a day restarting your PC.Why?
You wasted 2 days trying to get it to work. What was the problem?
If you want help you need to be more specific.

My laptop use to run Eve fine. Now it totally shuts itself off at random times when I play Eve. It works great for all other games. I updated video drivers, disabled sound, basically tried everything I have read in these forums. Any ideas appreciated.Runs great on my desktop, but I'm on the road.

Check it's not overheating. Eve really pushes the hardware in a laptop which can cause excessive heat. Due to the limited ventilation, the machine usually ends up shutting itself down to prevent damage.
Have a check around the internet for a free CPU thermal monitoring utility and have it open while you play.
