I see with the new update comming near Christmas we have Jumpable Freighters, well I was thinking about something similarish:
What about something that could be fraction specific or a General (like Mining Barges) ship that has something like 150,000 - 200,000m3 cargo space that works as a step between Iteron V and the Obelisk for example, as that it would help people who do not have the money to get an Obelisk (seen BPC's for 220mill and full builts for 940mill) and still allows them to haul a number of items such as quite a few Frigates or a few Cruisers quickly and easily.
I was thinking something that could have a price of about 60 million ISK, not too hard to get for shipbuiders or Miners but is still a lot cheaper than an Obelisk.
I would like other peoples ideas and thoughts upon this, and yes, I only fly Iterons as its taking me ages to get the money for an Obelisk owed to the expensive nature of them.

I already USE an Iteron V, so what do you mean that will help?
That can only carry 2 Cruisers and 2 Frigates, so its NOT helpful, it cannot even haul a full JC in one go without using GSC, I am thinking of something that is a step between the two ships.
Even if the ship only carrys 150,000m3 of cargo, and costing 50 million with no skill upgrades, that works nicely, but I see the Itty V as useless for anything BUT JC hauling.

This is a needed ship class, my sig contains a link to a 2 year+ thread of this very idea.
The new "T2 freighters" look like nothing more than non combat carriers and do not solve the problem.
I too refuse to train for and pay out for a Fenrir that I will never use more than 1/5 of, nobody flies dreadnaughts in lvl3 missions why should I fly a capital class hauler for small jobs?
200,000m3 hi sec capable haulers are still needed

Maybe the new jump freighter will fill that gap, tho i dont expect it to be cheap.

Cargohold Optimization rigs on that Itty 5 will let you carry a full jetcan. For more space, you're going to need an Occator. (I've got over 35k m3 on mine without using any GSC)
When I'm ready for and need more space, I'll just get an Obelisk and haul with that. EVE is all about tradeoffs and compromises. For now, I'm sacrificing the massive capacity of a freighter for mobility and flexibility in fitting. Later on, I will have need for sheer volume transport and use the proper ship for the job. (

Itty with 5 T2 expander modules and 3 T1 cargo rigs gets 38.4k m3, fits 12 GSC's, so that adds another 10,800 for a grand total of 49.2k m3.
Occator has an extra low slot, but one less rig slot so it's 6/2 vs 5/3, Itty V starts with a slightly bigger hold, so it wins in the end.
I thought everybody knew that by now, rigs aren't exactly new anymore.

a Cargo Rig I goes for 40 million, I am suggesting a ship that can carry MORE than the Itty 5 with Tech I rigs and Tech II expanders for the SAME as 2 rigs, or slightly cheaper but can carry more, hope people understand that, or even please, put some Obelisk and its BPC's for cheaper

I take offence at you thinking that I am whineing, I am making money, but I see it as pointless to use a full 750,000m3 ship for hauling a Battlecruiser and a few Frigates for Ship Sales, and me having to go back to Gallente Space to go Ice mining for the Gallente people who are up in Domain Region who use Gallente Jump Drives to help the Alliance to reduce overall cost.
Oh and I would like to see how these Jump Freighters will be implimented, it sounds interesting.

Continue with your ideas in This Thread. The idea of a intermediate freighter is widely supported. Don't mind the trolls, they're just doing their troll-duty.
