hi, I'm on a trail account and debating my options about subscribing and need to know some info.
I'm debating about buying an eve time card (90 days) and am wondering, if I use this to extend my trail to a regular account, will I get the 90 days for the card + 30 days for initially making an account totalling 120, or will I just get 90, or will it be some other unknown number of days.
You help is greatly appreciated.

Here is what you go. Play out your trial until it almost expires. You can also let it expire and set some long skill training on this last day and not play and pay for a few days while this skill is training. Then you go to My Account and put the code in and you'll get 90 days. You do not have to pay for the first 30 days - you can apply the code directly even if you trial went inactive for a few days and it will still give you 90 days. If you don't want to take any days off, wait to the very last day and apply the code the next day when you want to play and you subscription expires and you can't log on, and it will give you 90 days right away and you can log on and play. If you do not wait until your trial is almost over and apply a code, you'll lose those few days remaining on the trial period.

You will get 90 days of time - account creation doesn't give you an extra 30 days as far as I know.

ok, I guess I was reading it wrong, thank's for the info. I'm not sure when I'll apply it as I'd like to get full access but waiting a few days makes sense. Thank you both for your help

There was some WhiteWolf offer that gave a 30-day trial instead of the usual 14-day trial, the OP might be one of them. Yes, applying a 90-day GTC will add 90 days to whatever time you have left right now, AND will upgrade your account to "paying" status (so you can train all skills now). _

so your saying if I've got say ten days left on trail, and I add a 90 day game card, I'll have 100 days total after I apply it?
This sorta goes against what the others were saying so are you sure?

Edited by: Sicil Fioet on 21/10/2007 03:10:14 If you have a trial running and apply a code, you'll lose the remaining days. If you had subscription running, the days will be added on top of remaining days. A lot of players get confused by this, but it is just different with trial vs subscribed account. Here is a guide on using GTCs: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=596886

A corpmate of mine now (real-life acquaintance) joined us immediately after he created his trial account. His employment history:
Caldari Navy Volunteer Task Force from 2007.09.16 13:46 to this day State War Academy from 2007.09.16 13:06 to 2007.09.16 13:46
He used a 30-day GTC to activate his account somewhere one week into the trial (to be able to train industrials and battlecruisers). His subscription expires (unless he applies a new GTC) on the 30th this month. You do your own math. __
P.S. Well, at least that's what his "my account / subscription details" page says. Since he was a total EVE n00b, he asked me to help him do it, including entering the GTC code and everything. Not sure if he'll keep playing, he's not extremely active... but that's besides the point. I warned him NOT to, since I've heard the same rumor, that it cuts off the remaining days of trial. I was just as much surprised to see it didn't, like you guys are now. _
