NB: This does not violate the no politics ban, because he's running as both a Democrat and a Republican; the other political parties haven't won in centuries, so they don't matter.
Stephen Colbert. He speaks for you. Stephen Colbert is America (it says so in the "About the Author" section of his book, "I Am America (And So Can You)".
I suggest everyone vote for him in the coming, eventually, election. I don't care if you're an American Citizen with voting rights or not, and I doubt he does either.
So vote for him. Stephen Colbert. He IS America.
I used to get It. Then It changed. Now I don't even know what It is.

Colbert is flatter than a can of day old 7-up, he is probably less funny than Dennis Miller and Carlos Mencia and I'm not sure how that's possible.
George Carlin owns all 3 of them without even trying.

I'm looking forward to a:
i. Stewart / Colbert ticket ii. Colbert / anyone ticket iii. Huckabee / Colbert ticket
Regardless, we've got Steven Colbert, true son of America, in the White House where he belongs.
(PS: The last one? Actually possible. Huckabee has stated that he would name Colbert as VP.)

id vote for colbert simply because hes not a douche. lets recap the democratic frontrunners (last i heard, colbert is a self-described democrat, and in SC one cannot run as a republican and a democrat)
hilary-huge douche. srsly. obama-not a douche (gotta love when he tells other countries P.M.'s to put up or shut up, that for me = win) edwards-his $500 dollar haircut doesnt make him less of a douche-it makes it worse
colbert-truthiness, a presidential radio address actually worth listening to, and probably wont send people overseas to get tortured. Meatwad FTW |

Alright in America? Hell, it is a national pasttime. Practically a sport.
Al Capone, a Chicagoan (where I am from) was famously quoted, "Vote early, vote often."
The dead vote is a famous one. There was a town in Illinois where more people cast votes than actually lived there. Turned out the dead were voting too. In New York (state) they likewise have a dead vote and in their case at least the dead seem to vote Democrat 4:1 ****ing off the republicans to no end.
Don't get me started on Florida and the current President Bush first "win". Vote tampering out the ass and look what we got for it.

Edited by: Nuala Reece on 25/10/2007 15:57:26 Wow, it's news stories like that that just reinforce the (false) notion that americans have no sense of irony. I'm not sure which is the funnier - the implication that it would be a bad thing for political satire to influence the way people think about their voting, or the implication that the other candidates are so poor people may prefer to vote for someone who's making it clear his candidacy's just a joke

Been awhile since I looked but IIRC Mickey Mouse usually pulls in something like 1% of the vote as a write in candidate.
