I know that the Topic is not new, but please stop the Ppl without Alliance Ticker from posting and further let only PPL from Alliances with more than a specified Number of Members post here. Lets say a minimum of 300 (500) Members in Alliance to get on the List to post here? The rest is to insignificant anyway.
Its to easy to spam and troll here.

come on m8 we all know Characters like Dev1lwoman are 800k sp characters, if CCP could fix CAOD and made sure only characters of 6 million SP and above could post on this topic it would clear atleast 90% of the alts on this forum as i doubt that anyone would train a character for 5 mil SP just to post on CAOD. and yeah u cpould create ur own corp to flame everyone.. but atleast it's with your main --------- When the pin is pulled Mr. M67 Fragmentation Hand Grenade is NOT your friend. |

The mods do warn people if they post without ticker, but to limit it to how many you have in an alliance is ludicrous to be able to post. Everyone should be allowed there say. This forum isnt just about the big alliances its about every corp and alliance in eve.
Again the big alliances want all their own way..

I am constantly amazed that CCP has never found the relatively small amount of programming time it would take to implement enforcing of the COAD rules.
It would certainly safe you MORE than the enormous amount of time spend by admins wiping illegal posts BY HAND!

Hi,
Its funny stuff really. I read that scrapheap challenge site now and am amazed by how little spam they get in their general wars and stuff section. But frankly it just comes from a no nonsense approach.
If the mods (if we have any atm) just take a firm stick specifically to this forum one day a week and BAN anyone posting spam or general one line bull**** stuff like "/first, IBTL, etc", i bet we would have a adult, useful board in a couple of weeks.
Where has the discussion gone? Every thread just seems to be pages of people posting ****e to get their name seen.
Grow up and have conversations about things without fear of drowning in one line *******s spam.

Whilst im not a fan of the one man alt posts, I have to say limiting the forums in the way suggested by the op would be quite inappropriate.
EVE is 99% boredom. It takes time to do most things, you invest the time because the 1% of win is worth it. Without the forum *****s and drama mongers I believe this game would have died in 2003.

I agree with most of what you put and the 6mill sp is a excellent idea, however i dont agree about allowing only those with alliance tickers, corperations have opinions too and seeing this area of the forum is dedicated to Corperations, Alliance and organisation discussion, the change would require a new forum area Truth of M.Pire |

Edited by: Necronomicon on 22/10/2007 11:14:59 Sorry Damir, but your logic is flawed, minimum numbers are basically like saying that your alliance just because it is bigger than ours is any more or less important.
I do understand the frustration of alt corps/alliances posting mindless drivel on COAD, but there are so many better ways of tackling it. IRON HAND MODDING!
Spineless alt #1 posts drivel on COAD, and the mod warns his main, alt keeps posting, main gets a forum ban. Ppl have to held accountable for their actions on the forums, and even if we the general community don't get to hear about who's alt it was that spammed the forums, we can all rest easy that his main is feeling the heat for it.
The other way to curb it is the one char per account rule, where just as in character creation, you make a choice that you are stuck with for the length of that account, you select which account will have forum access, and the other 2 slots will never be able to post. You will get screams from players who say "But I have a char in BoB, and one in IAC and they are both mains!!" Well tough, if you are in a situation like this, you can just make a new account and transfer a main to it...job done.
I think you will find that ppl will not want to spend 10 dollars a month just to spam the forums, so the problem will largely go away.
Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

Edited by: Tanya Kovacs on 22/10/2007 11:29:13 It would help if CCP would/could improve the forum software and prevent posters without ticker from posting here. Mods are obviously overstrained with monitoring all this threads.
When this is done a rule to ban this Alts would be nice. Minimum skillpoints or something like this. This wouldn't remove the alts at all but raise the bar. CCP has the data (afaik not in the same database though), so it shouldn't be impossible.

Agree with that one. When people get 100 warnings before they actually get penalized..it will just continue. No nonsense approach and peeps will stop. God knows why a game like EvE which is quite hardcore in many ways are so soft when it comes to their forum moderating.

Edited by: WoHen Nankan on 22/10/2007 11:38:24 First off yes if you don't have any alliance ticker you shouldn't be able to post here. That's fine.
But 300+ members to post?
I disagree. Isn't this forum for all corps regardless of size?
Or 6 mill sp to post?
This would allow people with multiple accounts to more easily post in alt corp characters than people like me who have only one.
It also would prevent people who are new and curious about some aspect of corp and alliance dealings from posing questions.
Quote: come on m8 we all know Characters like Dev1lwoman are 800k sp characters, if CCP could fix CAOD and made sure only characters of 6 million SP and above could post on this topic it would clear atleast 90% of the alts on this forum as i doubt that anyone would train a character for 5 mil SP just to post on CAOD.
It would also cut out people like me whose main corps will fine them for asking intelligent questions or being willing to listen to the opinions of opponents.
Before you even post it there are other reasons to be in a corp besides their rules on CAOD posting so don't ask me why I'm still in that corp.
Also if people pay for an account and play the game and have something to say that is on topic why should they be disciplined for their posts not reaching a certain level of intelligence or humor? There are a lot of posts on here by both mains and alts who try to be funny and fail miserably, who try to be clever or come back and fall on their faces.
It's the internet and it's a place for people to relax and not have to entertain anyone else or risk reprimand.
It's easy to get frustrated and suggest something sweeping but I don't think a lot of people think about or understand the consequences of things they suggest. And that's not much different from not caring about the thread you post in imho.
Thanks if you read the whole post. Sorry about the length.

To me it's not so much that alts can post in here. The problem is that CCP doesn't give a damn about it. What they do is snip and write something like "you need corp ticker shown to post here", completely ignoring that the alt knows this, and writes it anyway because people will read it before it gets snipped.
We have had 1-man-alt-corp posters, NPC corp posters and alts without corp shown posting in here for months and months, and still they are not banned for ignoring forum rules. My conclusion is that CCP doesn't care.
The perfect way to deal with it though, would be when they snip a post, they write the main character(s) of the alt, across all accounts registered to that name/credit card. Meaning that ALL your mains on ALL your accounts will be revealed. That could be fun.
