Well I've been saving up a bunch of 150mm proto gauss railguns for my first raptor, only to find that power grid usage of these guns is insane compared to the power core of the raptor. Looks like I can hardly fit 1 of these guns onto my raptor.
So I was wondering what setups are good for this interceptor?

what is key to use in the interceptor setup is to use the low slot module that give +10 to the grid, not 10%. I think it's called Micro Auxiliary Power Core or sumthing like that. I am not home so I cannot check in game for the actual name. Fit a couple of these and you more than double the Inty's grid.

Use 125mm proto's on the raptor, and save those 150mm proto's for the Hawk and Medusa Gunships

micro auxillary power cores take as long as a frigate just to make and they cost about the same too.

Thanks guys for the great help..
BTW I'd love to see what a large auxiliary power core would do

Chances are your 10% would give a lot more power than +X MW on a cruiser or bs. =======Abaddon=======

Ok, so here's the result :
raptor: HI : 150mm proto gauss x2 + standard missile launcher w/ defenders MID : 2x tracking disruptor + 1x remote sensor dampener LO : 1x micro aux power core + 2x cap relay
I'm to lazy to go check it out on chaos, but I still wonder if this setup will be any good.

I have to ask. No MWD?

I thought 497 m/s was kind of quick enough, but yeah, I suppose I'll have a hard time at camp gates.. A very short hard time..

* 2 x 150mm rails, 1 standard launcher * 2 x AFB, small shield booster * 1 auxiliary power core, 1 damage mod, 1 cap relay
the different ammo types will give you different optimals, which are actually useful in frigate fights... from ~10 km with antimatter, through 15, 20 and up to 30+ km. Learn them, and learn to capitalize on them -- if you have the speed advantage, you can easily snipe out of enemy's optimal or even their targetting range (and damage bonus together with the damage mod still allows to kill in few shots)
If the other ship is running the MWD and has speed advantage, just switch to antimatter and rip through them as they get close. :s
