Edited by: Sheriff Jones on 22/10/2007 18:56:44 Yes yes! And then, remove all bounties from roaming rats and change them to drop CONCORD points, which you can use at CONCORD store! Oh oh! And and...people wouldn't drop loots or wrecks anymore when shot! Yes! They would drop pirate points! Then you could go to pirate store and buy pirate stuff! Ofcourse!
And roids wouldn't give out minerals, they would give out roid points! Oh and NPC ships would give out bunnyrabbits and jam! And ships would shoot candysticks and rainbows and then the evil Jovian plague would teach everyone how to snowboard and then we could all jump into the mooooooon!

I like to run courier missions because they let me do other stuff like work, study or watch ****. If there was no ISK reward, I would make almost nothing doing these missions.
I used to like getting items as a time bonus. I think this should be brought back. Depending on the type of agent, you would get a different item. Combat mission, get ammo or named module for that race. Courier get some kind of construct material, like R.A.M. or construction blocks.
NVM the construction blocks, forgot what a pain they were to move later.

Explain why there's a problem with having ISK in the economy?
And before you say it - EVE's economy is NOT inflationary. Ask anyone who's been around for longer than 10 minutes. Prices go *down* not up, and if there was too much ISK floating around then prices would all be increasing.
This is not correct.
Our economy is overproducing (because its easy to be a producer) and hence ppl are competing with each other dropping the profit to lowest levels. Examples for this are the t1 battleships, the battlecruisers and even carriers.
Hmm, I am curious as to why you say the economy is overproducing? I have looked at the 2 of the items you have listed, BC & BS. I can't fly a carrier yet so I didn't even look at it. For the most part the BC & BS are priced as they are listed in the item database on shown in the upper left hand corner of the screen. I have even seen it at times where the prices were 5 - 10 mil more than what is listed here on various items. It really sux when you are Amarr in Gallente space and want to buy a ship the price is terrible if you can even find one.
I don't think over production is an issue. I am able to puy items in one sys and jump 23 systems and sell them for 200% profit. That reminds me, need to buy more drones to sell.
As for the OP - I like the isk I make running missions as I use it to replace the ships I lose running missions. I know, I know, I get insurance for that it only covers the cost of the ship and sometimes it doesn't even cover that cost. I also use the isk at the lp store to buy stuff and I still buy other stuff on the market.
If you take away the isk what you replace it with?
quiet simple, if the industry wouldnt outproduce the demand, do you really think ppl would sell a bs or bc with just 5 mil profit and not like in the past with 10-30 ? The demand and the availability of goods determine the pricetag in eve. As was seen was faction loot, new ships whenever they are released etc.
The item database is no reliable source for an item "worth" as it lists just the mineral value but not profit or the work ppl want to get paid for. I.e. if you run a single bs bpo in full throttle you need to buy and freighter around a full freighter of minerals a day, especially if youre not selling the bs in the same station as you produce.
That you can sell items somewhere for a huge profit does not mean that the economy as a whole is not overproducing. It just means that at this spot you have a unique selling location where most likely not enough items are sold to make it worthwhile for a bigger producer to spend his time there. Call it a niche, especially when it comes to t2 and "high amount" items which are only worth selling in large chunks youll often find areas which are completely isolated and understuffed while i.e. in markethubs the market is packed to the brims. Lazyness allows bigger profit because the choice is "taking a 30 jump trip or spend a few mil ontop?".
As for your isk habits, a platinum insurance (the only insurance you should ever and always buy) covers all t1 ships to the fullest and even overcovers them abit. So if some of your mods survive ure looking at a 30 mil loss if a ship goes boom. Thats 3 lvl 4 missions worth 2h playtime or 10h highsec mining. 2h 0.0 Beltratting just from bounties. Or 30 mins Invention jobbing.

I can't be the only one who remembers when missions gave you items instead of pure isk as a bonus. It led to a lot of junk sitting around in the hangar, but it made the rewards quite a bit more interesting. I think most people were disappointed when the change was made to pure isk payouts. It added more variety to different agents and corporations than the LP store offers.
Imagine for a second if, instead of that 500-1500k isk time bonus for a mission, your agent handed you the equivalent amount of tritanium. At 2.x isk/unit.
I think everyone would go home happy.

Originally by: Dzajic OK, im a 5 mill SP noob doing empire missions... ...So where exactly is the AFK mission runing with billions for nothing?
Seems you answered your own question.
I myself started doing lvl 4's at 6 million-ish. It was hard and missions took long to complete. money was OK-ish. But that was with so-so skills and a standard raven. Doh. Now add a few more SP's and a Navy raven (hardly a huge investment)and yes, missions require no skill, little time and the money pours in without any risk involved.
Mission income comes from 5 sources: Bounties. Loot. Salvage. Mission isk reward. Mission LP reward.
Good mission runners will have an alt to loot and salvage while your main breezes through yet another mission. Loot and salvage are actually outvalue bounty income significantly. My alt would sell the loot, refine the craploot and produce my ammo, and produce other stuff from the minerals left over and built rigs from salvage. Easy money indeed.
Removing bounties would barely impact a good mission runners' income imho. When LP offers were introduced they were supposed to replace the bounties/isk rewards on the long term. this never happened, mission runners grow rich on borrowed time.
Now I make a somewhat better living ratting in 0.0 instead. Isk is good, but the risk has increased significantly with gank gangs always looking for easy ratter prey and the burden of anyone holding 0.0 space, the need to defend it and regular BS losses. The only risk in missions comes fronm lagspikes (Never lost a ship to that because I wasn't dumb, selected a non-overpopulated mission hub) or stupidity.
Isk/risk ratio is what it's all about here.
I'm fine with mission runners making a good living, but too many low SP runnners complain about how missions are too hard/don't net thwem anough.

Yes and also ban Lasers and missiles, so pirates have to ram your ship then crush your pod between two ships to pod people.
This would be much more fun and exciting, I think not YAWN !
