Recently they added a patch to increase the cruisers in 0.1 - 0.4.
For a week or so you could get some decent cruiser spawns, with a couple of 45kers etc in each spawn.
However these seem to have disappeared again.
Was it tweaked again to make it harder to get chains going ?
Seem to spend ages in Empire 0.0 to 0.1 systems trying to find decent rats to kill now.

I try to hunt in systems where the spawns are big enough to keep me occupied for a while. Then it's just belt-to-belt.
It's not quite chaining, but when there are pirates in each belt it's not much worse. And it makes more sense. ------------------------------------------- "My main griveance with the Caldari state was that once I had finished my work for them, they wanted me dead."

It just seemed to get really good and challenging and then suddenly got dull again.
I had spawns of 1 65k , 2 45ks and 4 12.5ks and found these within 10 minutes each time.
This sort of level was a challenge and good fun.
Now I seem to spend an hour in the same systems to find a couple of 35 kers and 4 10ks.

If you are looking for tougher spawns, there is 0.0 space aplenty too look in. Head out into Syndicate regions for example. It it not claimed by any alliance and once you get past the campers at the "bottleneck" into the region, you should have no serious problems with PvP:ers.
The spawns there should range from a couple of cruisers with friends and up.

But they aren't friends, they're all just drones!

It is still possible to chain any spawn, you have to keep the last NPC alive for a long time and that can be up to 40 minutes.
But after that you get a steady stream of NPC coming to you that doesnt stop until you either warp out or kill the last rat. Spawn of the Devil

The best spawn in 0.1-0.4 space is the 1x65 2x45 4x12.5, and they are excellent to chain. It's possible, just takes some patience :)
For the record, don't chain for longer then a few hours ... the lag becomes crazy from all the loot cans -----------------------------------------------

I personally, thought they took it out. And I was a bit skeptical about my corpmates telling me it's possible. So, one day I was bored and found a good spawn and sat out there for a while. Then finally! They started to spawn.
So yes, it is possible to chain spawn still. Although, it takes roughly an hour to get it going, though. Just keep the crappiest one alive and then read the forums for a while, that's what I do. But I've gotten it, so that 3 BS's could sit there and farm/chain them.
Not too mention all the loot. It's all pretty much crap, but it refines down to a lot of minerals.

Chaning is not as it used to be. Before you could get the rats to instant spawn - the rat respawned at once after you killed it.
It's more profitable to do belt by belt if your after the isk..
