The EVEFront team is excited to announce the launch of EVEFront Beta. EVEFront enables pod pilots to access information on nearby in-game locations, share their adventures, coordinate operations, and exchange private intel with their corp mates using the in-game browser, external browsers, and mobile devices.

Check out the screenshots.
System report examples:

Here's one that old pilots may like:
Yulai
We are managing membership growth by invitation so we don't burn our server shack down (the data center people would be mighty annoyed), but anyone who responds here or evemails Tned Durand in game will get an invitation on a first-come, first-serve basis. We'll work with invitees to get their corp mates online so you can make best use of the corp features.
System reports are currently sparse as we launch, but we have the major economic centers and have been doing some work on system report content around our HQ in Madirmilire to give a flavor of what we see as the future. We beg your patience as we expand coverage and invite you to jump in and help us get as much coverage of EVE as possible while enhancing your EVE experience.

Great idea! I like this concept.
But will my privacy be respected in all regards and my information never disclosed to anyone?

Pretty sweet. About a year ago I had written a little bot for an IRC channel to do similar tasks. What you'd do is leave a browser window minimized. Every time you jump to a new system/dock/undock, the page is refreshed, and if it's trusted, it will relay your information (System/Station, etc). The IRC bot would read the last line in the MySQL database and paste it in there. Was useful, if spammy at times.
If you could implement some live updating location reporting tools, that'd be super cool.

Yes. We are not currently collecting any confidential personal information, just character names and logging IP addresses (which we will not willingly disclose). If we do at some point collect such information, we will have a strict privacy policy on that information and will not willingly disclose that information, with the usual caveat for when required by law.
Also, EVEFront is and always will be strictly neutral to all parties. Access to the database is restricted to key individuals who are not members of any significant in game corporation or alliance and we will not look at private organization information unless necessary for a support reason. If we suspect a breach of any kind, we will go offline until the issue is resolved like CCP did the other day. Keep in mind that you are responsible for who you give permissions to and that journals are public.

We have some ideas along those lines, but want to focus some more on the strategic before we go to the tactical. We have as a design goal that information be useful and easy to access in a simple fashion. For some things, it's relatively easy to gather data, but difficult to express it in an intuitive and fundamentally useful way, especially in-game. Stay tuned, though.

I think it's web based, so there would be little risk of a keylogger...
I think he means open source as in phpnuke is open source (is it though??)

Yes, it is Web-based. In EVE, it uses the in-game browser (while in game, click on the little globe and book icon at lower left and enter evefront.com into the address bar). You do not have to install anything on your computer.

Same. I'd like to use it for Macrointel posts. Is it something I can add, or do I need to register people as a poster to it?

You are welcome to use it to conquer EVE. One of our goals is to make it easier for people to manage and coordinate corporations for maximum effectiveness. We cannot endorse any individual corporation or alliance, but we'll do our best to cover the action and let the rest of EVE know of your accomplishments. We'll be featuring reports from the front and other member journal entries in Tned Durand's official EVEFront journal:
Tned Durand's EVEFront Journal
We already have one member journaling from the front in the northwest (anyone who wants to journal from one of the other sides in this conflict has a priority invite):
Threv Echandari's EVEFront Journal
Also, don't feel like you have to be running a corp to make use of EVEFront - you can use the in and out of game journal and system reports features even if you don't want to use the operational features. We'd love to hear news from even solo pilots doing COSMOS, exploration sites, missions, pirating, trading, etc.

To post either to the public system reports or to create private reports for your corporation, you must get an account. Anyone can see the public system reports.
If you want your corp mates to see your private reports, they simply register, you indicate they are members of your corp, and then they can see your private reports.
In addition, if you want some or all of your members to be able to edit your corp's system reports as well as you, you just tick a box identifying them as a 'Reporter' for your corp and now they can edit, too.
If you need to have your corp mates invited, you can either ask us for invitation cards and invite your corp mates personally using the built-in invitation tool, or send us a list of names (we prefer the former as we have a strict no-spam policy and don't want to bother anyone who is not interested).
