after patching up and logging into sisi, i can not connect to tq. it sais:
"The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging in."
Restarting client, restarting pc, reinstalling client does not help either. Anyone else has this?
P.S: sisi and tq are two different installs. i didn't patch tq exidently. sisi works fine btw.
and sorry if this is not the right place for this. i'm not sure where to post this. |

The patch has also messed up my, seperate, TQ install.
I start my TQ installation and get the rev2 splash then that disappears and the login screen doesn't appear.
The process "ExeFile.exe" continues to run on the system but seemingly does nothing.
I've reboot, reinstalled, nothing worked.

Same here.
Also, and there is a small chance that this is a coincidence, after rebooting my machine, a number of services which used to run have now stopped, causing certain things - for example, keyboard hotkeys - to no longer work.

You guys on XP or Vista ? Do you have selected the BITS art upgrade install option on SiSi ? Are you running SiSi with the /LUA:OFF flag or not ?
More info please I am on XP, selected the BITS upgrade, run with luaoff, and have no problems. _

Running on XP. Did not choose to download graphics update. Ran test client with " /end /server:87.237.38.50". Ran OK. Run live client with no arguments. Splash screen and nothing else.

I have a similar issue. I am running XP, and i tried downloading the new patch to singularity, it did not patch and sent me to the manual patch page (nothing unusual there) they didn't have the right client version so i just copied my game client and downloaded it onto the copy as usual, successfully patched to the copied file.
After installation i started up singularity and had a message saying something like "you computer qualifies for new eve art. Press "yes" to download eve art in the background while you play eve" so i pressed yes expecting to have a usual download screen, however nothing happened. I also was unable to connect to the test server as the status was "unknown", (usual error message when i tried to connect).
Then i brought up tq to see if anyone was having similar issues, but after the startup screen, no login screen was presented. Brought up task manager and found that i had the above mentioned file running. I tried bringing up tq several more times, same result.
Restarted, still had the same issue, deleted all eve files on my computer and then reinstalled the client, still having the same issue....This doesn't seem possible, can someone tell me what is going on?

Sisi patch does something to the setting (Document and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings) which is not compatible with TQ. I have restored my settings folder from a backup of about a week ago, and I can now connect to TQ.
Still need to get to the bottom of my services problem, but at least I can connect now.

Sisi copied today from the TQ-Directory and patched manually. Download of Graphic Stuff was enabled.

Edited by: N1ghtR4ven on 23/10/2007 20:01:39 That did it, if you delete the files in that settings folder I found I could connect again. Though It does mean you will loose your settings for GFX, audio etc

Hmm, seems the option to download new content does nothing, just a placeholder for now.
And apparently you should run SiSi with luaoff just in case it does corrupt you cache Might not necessarily happen' but just in case. _

Edited by: N1ghtR4ven on 23/10/2007 20:10:47 Seems to only happen to me if I change my display settings in the SiSi client, maybe it writes something to the shared configuration file, data the older TQ client can't understand.

I get the server status unknown msg, and I really don't know what's wrong
I downloaded patch and applied it as usual, went through this new stuff on login screen, but it stops there ofc, server status unknown.
I s there something new to how we apply end/server:87.237.38.50?

Yeah confirmation on loc's findings, although it deletes all your settings....i just moved the folder rather than deleting it, so if ccp can come up with a solution to this issue i can just restore them (i hope).

I can confirm that if you use the "/end /lua:off" on both your test and live client shortcuts, you can run them both without them interfering with each other. There is, however, wierd stuff happening on the test server: I can't launch drones; I can't dock at stations; my ship jumped from outside a station to some random point in space and warped to the station, as if I had disconnected, which I hadn't; I can no longer log on - get a "failed" message after the character selection screen.
Some initial views on the changes:
- new logon screen is awful - no cancel/exit button, and always pops up support page in IE (possibly due to not downloading graphics upgrade as my brand new laptop does not support it) - ships are no longer centred on the screen, but are towards the bottom of the screen - windows (market, wallet, character sheet, for example) flicker when opened - windows sometimes have close icons missing, or have the close icon in slightly different positions - carriers are limited to 5 drones - yesterday I could fly 7, today only 5 - as above, problems launching drones and docking - problem warping to mission bookmark - nothing happened - not sure about the new multi-part, relocatable overview - just spent 15 months getting use to where it was, and it cannot be shown that way atm due to the new position of the target icons - top right - descriptions (hence, bonuses) for new T2 ships are available, but no new ships seeded yet.
I think I'm going to wait until things settle down before I go back.

Same error, looks like it got fixed, but if it didnt here is how I was getting around it:
When you start you TQ client it will default to the IP adress for SISI. Select TQ from the drop down menu and wait for it to say "status unknown" or pop up the support page message. After this re-select TQ and you will be able to connect to TQ. _______________________________ Pleese exucse any seplling erorr's in tihs psot |
