If CCP really feels that carriers wtfpwning BS is a bad thing, then how about this -
Fighters get a tracking nerf severe enough so that they can only hit Capital ships. If this means increasing capital ship Sig Radius, then do so. This would mean that fighters could no longer sit in a fleet and Wtfraep over a 250km radius by instagibbing Fleet bs.
Fleet BS would be fairly safe from carriers as well, as regular drones can travel a max of about 70km, and for heavies this would take a minute (more than enough time to warp out).
It would mean that carriers in a regular fleet would be used to repair each other and support / battleships, and would be deployed w/ fighters to take out capital ships when the situation arises.
I dunno, flame me all you like, but anything's better than CCPs idea... ---

Do you want people to use carriers? Only have fighters hit capital ships. I like flying my carrier but not to often I see other capital ships.
A well tanked BS can tank a carrier and kill all the fighters. I don't really see why then need to be nerfed in the 1st place.
Maybe CCP just wants carriers to repair shields/armor/structure on POS.
1 recon ship can shut down a carrier why not nerf them.

I wholeheartedly agree with you TBH. I don't want carriers nerfed at all, and I don't think they should be. The way CCP are 'nerfing' them is just ********.
Sure, fix the lag that fighterbombing brings, I'm sure that's what you intend to do, but not like this... ---

I posted this in a whine post and was about to create a new post for ideas but saw this.
i see no real problem with this how often is a carrier actually used in solo work. Well besides the pirates sitting at a 0.4 killing noobs but even then dont you use smartbombs? Oh theres the mining op carriers too this im half and half on. I would imagine having a solopwnmobile for mining ops would be nice and very helpful.
So what now you just have to have friends alive to use all your drones. Maybe if all your gang members are in pods it unlocks the ship to use all of them at once this would be nice. But, if your not in a gang or have gang mates you must assign to have more than 5 out at a time. The pod deal would unlock a set of 5 for each pod in gang also.
Sounds good to me.

One of the main reasons to train for a carrier is to get more fighters out.. i mean everyone will be ****ed at this.

It sounds sensible I suppose, Carriers would then at least be able to deploy Heavy Drones for some protection against Battleships. I don't see why they need to be nerfed, either, but if they did get nerfed - this sounds reasonable. ---
