Going over the ship models, and you can excuse the fact that these models are the worst designed in the modern Sci-Fi world due to CCP being a startup company with low capital. However, Eve has been fairly successful so why haven't these designs been replaced?
More importantly, why are the 'new' ships just old models with a new coat of paint? I was fairly pleased to hear that Trinity would be a graphical update, but wait... the new T3 battleships? More Megathrons? Lame.
Seriously, it isn't that hard to do some decent ship models. I mean look at the Caracal and Raven, they are the most ********ly stupid looking designs imaginable, I don't think you could do worse. Did you guys hand a blind bipolar midget some legos and tell him to go to work?
Here's to hoping that we get new models with Trinity, although I doubt it. Can anyone confirm/deny?

T2 ships have never received new models, just slightly upgraded versions of their t1 hull. This has been true, as far as I know, forever.
All ships and models are getting new textures with the new graphics engine.

I think they're getting a few more bells and whistles, but they're going to look pretty similar to before.

remodeling and new textures.
the ships will pretty much look like their former counterparts, but will not be like them.
example: the bellicose.

Only for a few. But all will get a LOT of new details. Look through the older devblogs, there are serveral pictures.

i hope we get some new models soon couse i am really startign to hate all the old ships with just new textures... it just shows CCP has little creativity these days... they wont evne give amarr abck its lost frigate just let it die out as some kidna tournement prize never to be seen again

I really don't see how not completely re-do'ing all the ship models signals a lack of creativity. They're all looking quite different as is.
Also the your highness comment was directed at the op.

In Trinity 2 (the current engine is called Trinity IIRC)
The original designs of the current models will be updated with lots and lots more detail, i.e. more shiny polygons.
These updated models will also get updated textures to really take advantage of the increased detail of them.

I would like the Minmatar cruisers (Stabber/Rupture) to look sleeker and meaner. CCP has shown that it can design great models. Look at the Hurricane, Maelstrom, Myrmidon, Rokh, etc. It seems that those models which were introduced much later are a lot better looking. I think it would be great to redesign the lower tiered ships along the same lines.

To see the new models you will need to have a brand new graphics card. Wich many people probably don't have. I know mine is one generation behind hehe (last year). Kind of disappointed there

yeah there are a raft of ugly ship designs out there that could use a face lift. especially caldari boats, wow there are some UGLY, zero creativity designs. not hard to throw random shapes sticking out of a ship like that. /shudder. some of the minmitar ships could also use some love. the only amarr ship i have grief with is the mauler, thats simply cuz they use it for several t2 ships and it's a fat ugly looking turd. oh and the prophecy is a goofy looking fat bird too. gallante are decent for the most part.
anyway, thats my 2 isk.

With the amount of adult Eve players you could easily even have a competition to design some new ships - 3d modelling programs these days are pretty easy to use - and it would be amazing to see what some people could create.
Just an idea in case money is an issue

That's very subjective. Personally I think the vast majority of ships in EVE are very well designed.

It's funny how often this comes up on the forums. TII ships look the same because they are based on TI hulls. If they had a totally different look than their tech one counterparts, it wouldn't make any sense.
T3 is either an abbreviation for tier 3, tech 3, or a typo of T2 (tech two). If you meant tier 3, you're wrong because tier 3 battleships were new models since they're completely new ships (I.E. Not new ships that are based on the hulls of old ships). Tech 3 doesn't exist yet, so if you meant tech two I already explained why TII ships look the same as their lower-teched counterparts.
