It would appear that CCP in their ignorance has started to make the changes on the test server this extract is from

"Dozens of players have pledged to cancel their accounts over the controversy. CCP developers have apparently made no final decision one way or the other, but the changes were already implemented on the EVE test server as of today. "
I think some stronger action is required and in true British rail style I would like to propose that everyone who would cancel their accounts if these hideous changes went through should band together on the 30th of October from downtime to downtime and together as one, for a 24 hour period not log into eve with any of their character so that CCP can see the kind of numbers they will be talking about losing if these changes go through..
If this drop doesnĘt show them that the community doesnĘt want this and what they will be loosing, then god help us all!!
Spread the word!!
I will go as far not only to close my 3 accounts but to close my alliance aswell..
Respect can be found for your enemy.... its jus a case of how hard you wanna look...

Okay, and have you put any thoughts in long-term effects if these things remain unchanged?
It will be a blow to anyone who has spent their time training up for these ships specifically, while it originally (likely) was intended to raise the bar for PvP-specced characters to grow further. Now, the game has shifted from direct combat to dropping entire capital fleets.
Capital ships were never ment as solo effort ships. They were (at least for as far as logic goes) intended as a required tool for territorial conquest, but not on their own.
Inflation of player wealth has gotten to a point where every man and their mother-in-law can afford them.

lol well i have been on here for about a yeah and i cant as hell afford one, no one i know can afford one and that a lot of people, more people can fly them but dont have the iskies to fly one
and they arn SOLOPWNMOBILEWTFBBQKILLINGIBIS ships 12 have dies in the last few months they just need planning look at he last 2 episodes of eve tv which is now freeeeeeeee

the change isn't on the test server yet...
dense much? drone bandwidth s not the proposed carrier nerf.
the carrier nerf is to allow you to use all of your drones but only with buddies.
the current change is a whole different change.
the 2 have.. ready for it?
NOTHING to do with each other.
p.s. (I don't want carriers to change, I'm just pointing out your stupidity)

A Dev has already replied to this subject in a thread here, asking about the nerf.
They haven't fully implemented a carrier's coding to use all the bandwidth it's supposed to with skills, modules, etc.
It's a glitch they're currently working on. Don't believe me? Read the other thread named "WHAT THE HELL <----".
Maybe people should start reading other threads about the exact same subject. Could keep people from getting confused.

While i think that they should be fleet support ships and atleast some what fleet dependant, rather than "solo-wftpwnmobils"... i think the changes first proposed changes were a bit steep.

4 dozen = less than 1/600th of the prime time server volume...
that certanly is a huge majority of the players lol
especialy since a good portion wont actually follow though

Carriers and Motherships could do with a nerf or two. Anything to stop the dock / undock tactic at 0.0 npc stations. It is so boring trying to kill one of these dull morons who undocks, aggresses a frigate in his carrier, then pops a few of the bs who come after him before ceasing fire and docking 90 seconds later.
Your only options are attack the Carrier (you have no chance of destroying it, because it loses aggro before you take down its tank)until it docks, or avoid the station until it goes away.
Very Very Boring.

it's a coquindence.
you can still launch 12 drones (not 5 like the nerf)
you can't delegate fighters and then use 5 yourself(like the nerf said would happen) you can only delegate 5 fighters and then use none yourself because your bandwidth is taken up.
this is nothing but the base drone bandwidth and the bandwidth used by drone being so simalar to the carrier change that everyone freaked out.
