Sorry, I missed the part where Brendan said he was going to teach them everything they need to know. Can you point that out for me? I think he was relating the message that he could teach them PVP basics and get them ahead of the normal learning curve. As for joining a PVP corp I believe he addressed this to anyone who wanted to learn PVP including miners etc. who may not want to be in a PVP corp but still might be interested in learning more about PVP.

I was merely commenting on some players perception that 'perfect' setups and heavy use of EFT are the only way to go. They are not. PvP in eve is a multi-faceted thing, but nothing beats experience. If this guy has it, then he'll have some useful advice. As will anyone else who's been doing pvp for any length of time. Ultimately it's going to be about getting out there and trying it out, which is best done both early and often, in cheap ships you can comfortably replace. Once you can overcome the psychological aspects of pvp, once you know what ships/ship classes can fulfill what roles, once you know which mods and setups can best achieve what you want that ship to do, once you realise that there is no such thing as the One Best Ship or the One Definitive Setup, once you realise that the ship you're in is already dead it just hasn't happened yet (but you'll delay it as much as you can!) and once you realise that a good wingman is invaluable then you can say you're qualified to show others how it's done. The first thing to realise above all though is that most people are full of it, so trust your own experience and take the advice of others with a pinch of salt until you can confirm it yourself. With the current love for killboards and meta gameing its a shame you have to flame someone whos up for good old fasion pvp, if you dont like it and doubt his skills its pretty simple to stay out of the thread. But from someone who has flown with him(and a good 90% of eves best pvp corps) this guy is only out for fun i highly recomend him if your new to lowsec/0.0/piracy.

Be that through T20's magical tech 2 bpos or the farming of 10/10 exploration sights that magically respawned for months in the same system. Now whether or not other players/corps/alliances have cheated is another story all together. I'm just saying that BoB is not the place to go unless you want to learn 300 man blobs and FCs screaming in your ear. This is something entirely different than what Brendan is offering. Having said that, I guess you just missed the actual content of this thread entirely. Brendan is not "withdrawing" his roles and "forming a new corp" because he thinks he's "uber l33t." He's staying in Black Fleet first off, and he's offering to give people hands on PvP experience when he's on and we're not (due to TZ issues.) Where you got the idea that he was forming his own corp because he thought he was so super good at pvp I don't understand. Perhaps you should try to comprehend what you read before you comment/speak about it. -Karl

Yes Bren is a good teacher he takes you straight into low sec and tells you what you need to know and how to do it. And for the people who are trying to flame him. What nerve do you have to be insulting someone who's actually taken up the role on helping the game pvp wise. Good fights on this game is rare to find its always BLOB BLOB LAGG TRAP. He's teaching that's not the right way to pvp sure its effective but it prooves you have no skill except that you can lag out the server will CONGRADU****ALATIONS! BUMP for AOS brendan anyways
