At Fanfest this year weÆll be holding a silent auction with all proceeds going to support ChildÆs Play, a charity founded by Penny Arcade. The goal of ChildÆs Play is to improve the lives of hospitalized children and their families worldwide with toys, books, craft materials and games. 100% of everything donated goes directly to the program; there are no administrative fees or charges. To place your bid, head over to the Fanfest Silent Auction page! Among the prizes is a tour of the CCP Office in Reykjavik but of course we will have other great prizes as well.

A great idea. One quick suggestion (perhaps for the future) would be to do something similar but for those that can't make it to Iceland for Fanfest? Obviously prizes might have to be a bit more deliverable (EVE Beer Tankard anyone?) but Im sure an online auction isnt beyond todays technology.
(This should also get a mention in EVE TV on Saturday).

At what time did you plan on having the tour?
My flight arrives kind of late on the 1:st and I wouldn't wanna bid just to find out I'm too late to claim The Holy Grail of our little community...

Bidding through the website is only for the tour, other items will be auctioned at the Fanfest.

It would be daytime, so if you arrive late you won't be able to bid on the tour, you can bid on other items at the Fanfest though.
Originally by: Virilionna Arrival on the 31 of October is it possible to have the tour?
Since the tour is 1 November, yes, it would be very possible.

No, but Morpheus has graciously offered his services...
I don't know who it will be, but someone who works at CCP at least.

Please auction some items on ebay for those of us trapped in the US. Something like orginal concept sketches would be nice (like the maelstrom).

We do have concept art, though I don't know exactly what will be auctioned so I can't say if concept art is involved or not, but our artists are very attached to their originals so i doubt that will ever be given out.

I have a feeling they could have an auction with that as the winning prize, they would pull in more then a year's subscriptions.. easily. personally I'd rather meet the janitor, seems he's running the show.

We will announce the total amount of money going to charity once the silent auction for all items are over. I don't know if we'll announce the winners, some may not wish to be announced.

Wee you, ccp.
remember, CCP does not run, moderate or administrate the Childs Play charity. if you know of a hospital that should be on the lists, well, contact them!
there is no santa claus magic involved, so if organizations are not asking for things, they wont get them.
CCP is continuing to support a good cause (one that also helps show that gamers are not bad people) kudos, CCP!

There's really no such thing as a bad charity, and we wish to support something that is close to us. Since we're all gamers, Child's Play was very appropriate.
