ATTENTION CCP PROGRAMMERS write the code so that pilots cannot log off unless their in a station. now u might ask urself what if there's no station close enough if i have to log off quickly to avoid attack or for real life reasons? the answer...put a futuristic lookin tower in each system, which wouldn't be hard to code, that would allow players to log off when their on the same grid as it. this "log-off point" would show up on the drop down menu for the system just as if it were a belt / planet / station / sgate. oh...tech III player deployable log off points?

then you end up with groups of pirates camping those log off points... plus I'm sure you would hate it if your ISP connection goes down and your ship does NOT disapear and someone destroys it or takes it for a ride without returning it...
Your 280mm 'Scout' Artillery I perfectly strikes Sansha's Scavenger, wrecking for 264.3 damage.

What happens if the connection is broken while you are not in a station? What if you can not reconnect it for a while. (a simple example is a power cut, which can happen anytime, anyplace).
This is the simple reason why there is log off anywhere, so that people who accidently get logged off don't get killed.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

I believe it would be better to have simple AI that would take over people's ships when they lose connection in space. This AI would warp to a safe spot. That's all.

I believe anybody with a Concord Security rating below -5.0 should have COWARD written across their portrait when they flee from combat.

Edited by: Reassor on 26/02/2004 08:17:39 Its simple ... look at others MMORGS .. CCP must write LOGOFF code that prevent ppl from INSTANT EVE CLOSE .. if player closed eve .. client sends a packet with information within about loging off ... and this will make ships to stay in space for longer .. and should be writen in server log ... and when ppl simple have CTD then u see there was timeout to client ....
that should be logged too ...
isnt it simple enough?
i saw many times when my corpmates have ctd and lost his all harvies or expensive ship .. a GM's simply said they cannot prove this.... O_O
its only a matter of constructive thinking!! stop spaming us with lies about SHIVA // or making promiesies that u cannot complete..
im asking where is Alliances implementation ?? and many more of those ,CCP was talking about many thing (fixes , imptovements) but this all are lies.....

..thing is that one can just pull a cable to get a timeout, if one really wants to.

The ship warps automatically to the log-off point if the user is disconnected for 2 mins. If someone is warp scrambled and logs off he still will get destroyed as he cannot warp to the log-off tower thingie.
