MARKET IS BROKEN!!!!

Lethal Adversary	Posted - 2007.10.24 21:15:00 - [1] Ok I was on my character Lethal Adversary, when I was testing out market transactions and such, Experiment 1: Sell Warrior I to alt for 25k Alt buy Warrior I and all is well, Check Transaction sheet of seller, No notice of sale Check Transaction sheet of buyer, Bought a warrior I from someother char who the orginal buyer bought the warrior I from. My Char who sold the Warrior I paid 5k to the orginal seller My Char who bought the Warrior I at 25k paid the Orginal seller also I tried this several times with both chars being buyers and sellers, same effect

And he always get the price you offer, not what he was asking for. If you right click on 25k sell order and buy, you are offering 25k, but if there is sell order for 15k, it will be used to fill your order and seller is paid 25k, not 15k as he asked, becouse you offered 25k (by right click buy on 25k order). It is amazing how many people have no idea how market works.

It's a mechanism to punish folks who attempt to transfer ISKies to/from trial accounts. If you set a price significantly higher than the market and have an alt purchase the product, your alt will purchase the product from the lowest price seller at the price the alt sets and the lowest price seller will get the proceeds. There are always cases where it doesn't work as designed, so you need to check the purchase price prior to accepting the transaction. "Give Money" and "Trade" is always safer if you need to transfer ISKies between characters. If you need to transfer items between characters on the same account, it's best to set up a private contract. ---------------- Mutatis Mutandis

Alora Venoda Caldari GalTech	Posted - 2007.10.24 22:28:00 - [13] when you click "buy this item" from market it actually does a buy order with timeframe "immediate" located at the station where the item is for sale. so if someone else ALSO has a sell order for the same item in same station, but for less cost, they will fill the buy order instead. if your buy order was for more units than they were selling, it will automatically go to the next one and so forth until your order is filled or there are no more left at the price offered. try it in Jita 4-4 sometime :) ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless. Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application.
