Started a new thread coz it's a different problem:
I'll use an example: I have clips that I have imported into movie maker, I add them to the timeline and it comes up as 6mins long (this info coming from the timeline - 6mins is when the final clip finishes). Fair enough. I then go to play the clips using the mini-media player within the movie maker program, and it comes up saying that it's 7mins 15s long
I then try to add music to the vid - I import a 3min 15s long song, and the timeline tells me that it finishes at the 7min mark... What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts how to correct it?

I hate to sound unhelpful, but the best solution is really to stop using Windows Movie Maker.

Try Premiere Elements, its only about 100 dollars I think.
You can also find Premiere for free if you look in the right places
