Edited by: Kerfira on 26/10/2007 12:40:38 For those of you who might not regularly read the Game Dev. forum, here's a link for this, and a link for the discussion on Scrapheap Challenge.
This nerf is live on the test server, and is quite simple. You're no longer allowed to put ships containing any cargo into the ship maintenance bay of a carrier.
Now, I suppose this COULD (if you're really twisted...) make sense for industrial ships, but it also makes carrying replacement combat ships a big hazzle as you can no longer put ammo/etc. in their holds.
I suppose CCP wants us to use the jump freighters instead, but they have a LOT of obvious restrictions: 1. Low range 2. Stupid cost (saw an estimate of 8 billion ISK in the SH thread) 3. Requires Freighter 5 (as of last info) 4. Making ONE alledgedly requires a BPC copy which takes 1 month to make (from the SH thread). 5. They ain't there yet!
Lots of other problems with this lined up. Read the threads quoted for more.

Interesting can someone calarify if this is just carriers ship maint. or all ships with a ship maint. array?
I personally carry more fuel around in a hauler in my mothership for when I run out... It seems rather stupid to stop any cargo being put in unless they increase the corp hangar.
One of the great things about motherships since the dictor bubble changes has been the logistics of them, being able to transport ammo, modules etc to the front lines; the corp hangar is simply too small to do this half of the time. If this goes through then they will be sitting at the pos watching and waiting, I really dont see any reason behind this change.

Carrirer on SiSi at the moment have 1.000.000 m3 ship maintenance bay capacity and still the same 10.000 m3 corporate hangar capacity

They will make you fit ship array module to enable ship transportation. So you have to choose eighter transport carrier or battle carrier.. not too bad thou. But to disable cargo spaces of ships inside your maintance array.. oh dear. Why??

Like the Jump Freighter? The one that will cost 6 times more than a carrier and will require Freighter skill level 5?

Yes, I am sorry I forgot I spent 40b buying and kitting out my ship. Due to the state of the servers I cannot use it effectively in fleet combat. If this change goes through I will have a worthless ship with nice mods... Maybe its time to camp low sec, thats what ccp seems to want us ms pilots to do.

There's already a discussion on this in the sticky thread in EIP forum, please continue discussing there.
