Ummm, I saw this once or twice so I need to adress it.
Who can't kill an interdictor in an AF? Really folks, it's not hard.

Depends if the interdictor is fit to kill you first.. :P
Its possible but the only situation you'd fight a dictor vs AF fight is if you warped to a gate in 0.0, or a station... in which case you're already dead.

a 200mm AC fusion sabre can kill an Afrig.
specially if it's a gallente Afrig with no expl resistance, or with just an EANM II.
tbh all Afrigs, bar maybe the amarrian ones are minced meat vs a well flown sabre. the rest of the dictors.. well, the eris is lawl, the flycatcher is better suited for long range missile bombardment with precisions, and I don't see the heretic having enough tank to deflect an Afrig.

The dictor probably won't fit to kill a specific kind of AF I think.
I've run into several solo dictors before, and they've all been forced to run. They simply can't tank well enough to beat an AF.

Any dictor with overloaded MWDs are pretty hard to catch up with, especially if the tackler is forced to maintain high transversal on approach. AFs are all slow, even the Jag, in comparison to dictors. Overloading faction MWD fitted Jag has a good chance though, especially against dictor pilots without faction MWDs or Thermodynamics skill.
But to imply that the AF already has a role in anti-dictor combat, is incorrect. Where I live, there are many fine dictor pilots. They are highly specialized, very fast, and can win against any frig pilot in small gang engagements. IIRC, one of BRUCE's Sabre specialists maxes around 6.5k/s in his ship. In larger engagements, a dictor pilot will zoom around, launch a couple bubbles, zoom off and cloak. Next time you see him, he's uncloaked and already within his optimal range of your AF, launching fresh bubbles.
If you think that you can easily kill dictors in an AF you haven't faced remotely skilled pilots.

AF pays for a distortion in eve, the speed.
Inty > Cruiser > Frig > AF
HEAVY Assault Ships are faster than Assault Ship, and thats a bad joke.
