this is a basic idea about running a corp that offer leverage for traders, I dont fully understand how the API for eve works so bare with me to see if this is possible
1 traders should make a deposit on corp wallet 2 based on trader activity this gain access to bigger leverage 2.5:1 5:1 10:1 etc etc 3 the corps will offer plex and ISk so traders can speculate 4 the corp will take a 5% from all gains (or more) 5 if a trader suffer lose and this lose is 90% of the ISK he deposit trade roles should be removed, see simple formula below (this can be done via API ?) 6 the corp should force the market position (this can be done via API ?) AKA forced liquidation of said position
if trader buy PLEX with corp ISK because he think the price will go up AKA he go long "forced liquidation" = current bid - (margin balance + unrealized profit or lose - (base price * amount * 5%)) / amount
if trader sell PLEX with corp plex because he think the price will go down AKA he short "forced liquidation" = current ask + (margin balance + unrealized profit or lose - (base price * amount * 5%)) / amount
can this be done with current corp api ? |

It is not possible to affect game using the API. To get the results you want, you'd need to write a trade-bot (not allowed by CCP) or do it all manually yourself. If the traders are in your corp and are allowed to use corp wallets to trade, they can clean those wallets for a very quick return on investment. |

having worked in financial insitutions over the years i now have a deep disgust as soon as i hear the term 'short selling'. It is wrong in real life and is wrong in EvE, btw what you are describing is not short selling per say. Short selling is the act of selling bonds or stocks that you dont have (provided by a third party most of the time) with the intention to buy identical assest at a later date (at a lower price).
In any case i m against any type of financial instrument in EvE, they make enough damage in real life, i see no reasons for them to be used in game. Also at least IRL you have some kind of accountability (aka you can get fined or go to jail) but you dont have any such things in EvE, so it will be scammed, abused and rescammed and overabused.
so in short: NO |

well if you are able to go long or short the eve economy will be better off on the long run, about consequences they dont need to go at real life just need to be based on how much ISK the player deposit
there are huge amount of ISK not used that ISK can be used on leverage and the leverage can go up to 400:1 for certain items, imo ccp should make api to allow this looking for a coder to do this https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=711072 |

The only thing you can short in Eve is ISK, knowing what to short it with is the trick. In other words, I've said nothing at all. |
