I want the old NPC chain spawns back. In the good old days it took me around 10 minutes to start a chain and start making some ISK. Afterwards I would often pick up the loot in a fast frigate, if I had a statin in the system.
After Castor I thought chaining was completly gone since I tried a few times and it did not seem to work. Then last read a thread about it and decided to give it as try again since most said that it could take as long as 1 hour before a chain was made.
So last night I sat near a belt and after a whooping 1 hours and 45 minutes I managed to pull off a chain. I used it for about 1 hour and 30 minutes as it was getting late and I earned about 2m or so, maybe a bit more. The loot was colleected by my CEO for his/corp keeping.
Now that was a freakin' long time. Total some 3 hours 15 minutes to earn around 2-2,3m ISK. I could earn more cash mining.
I tried again today and after around 40 minutes a chain began, too bad two guys warped in and annihalated it so the chain died. They said they where sorry, and I guess they where, but since I had just used some 40 minutes making it I was looking at another 40 minutes or more to make a new. I did not have the time for that, it would get too late and at best I would be able to use a new chain for maybe 30 minutes. A complete waste of time. So an evening that was supposed to earn me at least 2m ended with nothing but a lot of wasted time.
Now EVE is about fun and people have fun in various ways. Some prefer PvP, some prefer PvE, some like trading, building and some get a kick out of mining.
If I had strapped on mining lasers and headed for the nearst asterodi belt I could have made around 2,5m+/hour at no risk whatsoever. It is also very easy to do, not like there is a lack of asteroids unless you sit in core 1.0/.09 areas.
Mining is however to me boring. I have a battleship and some big guns I'd like to use against some NPC's but at the same time I'd also like to actually make some decent cash and belt hopping just does not do it. Chaining allows me to earn cash and have a more easy time picking up the loot afterwards.
If the time to make a new spawn had been only some 10 minutes it would have been much more bearable, also because I did not have to wait the initial 40m+ to get a chain going.
I just cannot fathom why chaining was "nerfed" like that. Was it really so bad, and where chainers really making so much cash compared to what I believe is the biggest and easiest way of making lots of cash at no risk; mining?
I play games to have fun, and tbh I have fun shooting AI's. But why do I have to invest so much time in it? Belt hopping is not profitable as getting a chain and the loot is never picked up 'cause it takes ages to get into the cans.
It is just not fun watching empty space for over 40 minutes and maybe get a spawn then, maybe get it after 60 minutes or maybe have to wait even longer. It certainlky is a timesink.
For awhile I tried agent kill missions but they got messed and now I get nothing but courier mostly. I know they will fix this according to Papa, but I would still like chaining so much more.
Is it just me, is EVE just *not* my game and I shold go play Quake or some other FPS or whatnot?

maybe, just for you, they can set up a system that sends out any npc you want, wait for you to kill it then spawn another one when you hit a button in your UI saying you are ready for more

Very constructive. But let us expand on that. Maybe make a system where asteroids sometimes get rabid and attack ships? -------------------------

Oh ...
Well, chain-killing NPCs was fun and all but you could earn way more cash with it than with any other method.
I think it's ok that it's gone and we now have NPCs that are a challange (some of them).

hmm maybe instead of chaining npcs , which can make insane amounts of isk (bounties aside , grab all the loot after in an indi and recycle) you should looks for harder npc spawns .
trust me , you dont want to chain a spawn of 8+ cruisers and their assorted frig escorts . not to mention battleships. you can make millions in bounties with just hopping belts. -------------------------

but like he originally said, he can't be bothered with belt jumping. he needs a funeral march of npcs feeding him.

You are obviously absolutly clueless and not reading my post. Now who's alt are you Miss 12 days old member of n00b corp?
Edit: 2004.02.26 21:01:00 The scumsucker is located in the Ammold system in the Sveipar constellation of Heimatar region.

Gosh Judicator.
It's too bad you can't just sit in 1 spot and shoot fish in a barrel now a days, post-Castor. Really, it is.....
From a RP prespective, what idiot NPC corporation really would be dumb enough for that aforementioned funeral march?

True, if you send in two drones and they don't come back then two more and likewise then surely next time send more, then send bigger ones till they do come back. Perhaps if you started a chain and got cruisers and battleships after a while it would be entertaining .

Yes, and while we're at it, I want pc indies and ill-equipped battleships to endlessly pass through A2-V27 without trying to escape. And I want ISK for each one I kill.

Would love to go belt to belt hunting big spawns including BS's. However the only ones I've managed to find after 2 days searching were DEEP in 0.0 space. ALLIANCE space, of which I am not a member. From what I've found so far there really aren't any 0.0 regions to hunt where I won't be shot on sight by the locals simply for being there. Of course everyone claims they're not a pirate, perhaps they should examine what actions tend to portray a pirate in eve.
Anyway my point being, before the latest patch there were GOOD spawns within the edges of empire space. Now in the same system where I used to find BS's all I get is frigs and an OCCASSIONAL cruiser. I just want some more difficult spawns. Some people say it was making "Rare" loot too easily obtainable but I have 2 things to say to that. 1, I really don't care if the make the drops half as frequent, just give me something tough to kill when I can't find any Naughty Minmatars. 2, with tech 2 hitting the market most of that loot won't be worth half the value of what people will be producing. (Given that it doesn't take another year to get some more usefull tech 2 on the market)
Just my 2 cents, I'm sure it most of you will dissagree.

You guys and gals Judicator makes a valid point. There should be systems you can still chain away from empire space. Npc chainning was fun and I hope the CCP introduces that again.

Dunno really. I remember in DAoC kiting/chaining was removed because it was far too easy to gain experience. In the case of eve it's not experience but loot/isk. I think anything worthwhile should not be easy. Gaining 3mil isk/hour should not be easy. It's human nature to want the easy life but if the game was too easy, it would be boring.

Judicator rised valid point. Actually NPC spawns are complete joke even at end of space in 0.0. I would give up chain killing if we had old 16+ spawns with BS spawns. In this case I wouldn't complain for nto to be able chain kill.
But actually I jump to belt two minutes of shooting and then I'm looking next 15 minutes for another good spawn deep in 0.0 space in Outer Ring.
We all are now miner/agent runner junkies! I can make by mining over 2mil/hour or running agents 3mil/hour. Killing NPC is now worst ISK/hour from all. So should we all turn into pirate/Pk scums?

There is a lack of bs rats as well now, can take hours of belt hoping to find any- even in there "homelands"
Im sure the angels and sanchas species r extinct, well endangered at least.......
Imo in the last costellation of a "dog leg" they should b easy to find, with the -1.0 systems being filled with them so it would be more common to find a belt with at least 1 in than without
Seems strange that you could find 50 within 1 costellation of .2s n .3s but cant see any in deep space, do rats fly south for the winter??
