Hello everyone. I am looking for a Rifter setup for someone on a tight budget. I have around 9,500 SP. I selected Spec Ops military for Minmatar, if that helps any. I want to be able to do missions, belt rat in low sec, and take-all-comers PVP.
This is the basic setup that I've come up with. Please give me your opinion on it. Please remember that I'm just starting out and am not rolling in cash.
High: 3 200mm Autocannons, 1 Nos Med: Weapon Disruptor, Warp Jammer/Disruptor (Don't know which), Named AB Low: Armor Repairer, Armor Hardener/Plating (Don't know which), (Don't know what to put here) |

Edited by: Brea Lafail on 27/10/2007 17:25:37 hmm... for low skills... PVP: 3 200mm ACs 1 rocket launcher web, 7.5km warp jammer, ab or MWD if you got the cash/skills if you got a MWD: 2 overdrives and 1 nano (maybe 3 ODs?) with AB: 1 gyrostab 1 resistance mod (eanm would be best) and then the biggest plate you can fit in after everything else.
For PvE: same as above with the AB, but drop the web and warp jammer for... cap battery and sheild extender? In the lows, drop the gyro and put in a web.
Hopefully you have all the skills for that, and should be pretty cheap.
P.S. Don't expect to win in PvP except agains other people with as little cash and skills as you. Good advice would be to run if you see someone in anything other than a tech1 frig.

Didn't know webs were for low slots. :P
Seriously: 3x 200mm ACs 1x rocket launcher
medium shield extender, warp scramberl, named AB
Overdrive hull injector, nanofiber, and fill the last low slot with your choice of speed/damage mod.
I fly my rifters like that. Pretty good stuff.

Neither did I...
I meant drop the gyro for a rep. Rep, web, they rhyme, you see how I got confused?

No.
For all level 1s:
3 x 200mm ACs 1 x Small NOS
1 x Sensor Booster I 1 x Web 1 x 1MN AB
1 x Small Armor Repper 1 x EANM 1 x DCU
For pvp you'd want to change the mids to tackle.

Tweak as needed based on your specific skills - test all this in EFT before setting it up in game, and this is directed at your request for a pvp setup.
Lows: Damage Control I 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I (drop down to 100mm RRTP if PG is a problem) Small Armor Repairer I (Skill for t2 asap)
Mids: Fleeting Progressive Warp Scrambler I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters
Highs: 150mm Light Prototype I Automatic Cannon 150mm Light Prototype I Automatic Cannon 150mm Light Prototype I Automatic Cannon E5 Prototype Energy Vampire
Carry EMP as well as Fusion rounds - EMP for shield tankers and Fusion for armor tankers. The 150mm's have a better tracking speed on them so with your lower skills you will hit more often than with the 200mm's - hope this helps!

SB on a short-range non-tackling frig? Am I forgetting something?

If you have something better to suggest that fits and that lets you lock those drones in Level 1s faster than they pop, I'd love the suggestion. --------------------------

None of these have a 400mm plate. This is why they suck.
Use 125mm AC, use a MWD, use a 400mm plate |

LoL, good luck with orbitting or hitting anything in PVP, even worse in missions. --------------------------

Check that thread for PVE setups, not sure if it's outdated or not cause I just started playing again. :D |

Excellent for can flipping in hi sec as im sure residents of poinen have found >:D Pretty much my exact fit, two od's in the lows and a gyro stab. Replace with T2 where it is viable.

+1 for the medium extender one.
Though I drop the AB for a MWD and either fit a MAPC or drop the autos down to 150s (or even 125s) to make it fit on my rifters.

I hope to God you're joking
Seriously people, 400mm plate Rifter is a standard PvP frigate - it's what makes it pwn the **** out of every other frig save for maybe an AC Punisher.
3x 125mm AC 1x Rocket launcher
1x MWD 1x Web 1x Scram
1x Small Rep/Gyro/DCU 1x 400mm Plate 1x MAPC
That's the general setup, people tweak it a bit though and spoon-feeding him the exact mods won't really help as they might not be the best for him. Seriously, how does that not hit anything in PvP. How does it not orbit anything ffs, 400mm plate doesn't make it much faster or slower comparable to other ship classes (still slightly faster than an AF, still faster than (most) cruisers, still slower than ceptors). This setup is the **** for pvp, trust me.
edit: and if you really want your AB for PvP ( ), swap it for MWD, switch MAPC to something else (gyro, nano plate, whatever)

I agree with poster above. The MAPC 400mm plate fitted Rifter is made of win. Fit a Suitcase2/Gyro2/Resist mod in the last low and you are sweet. ------------------------------------------------ 'The thing always happens that you really believe in... and the belief in a thing makes it happen' - Frank Loyd Wright |
