My corporation was restarting its production section earlier in the month, and we needed some more Megacyte. So last Sunday, I log and decide to take a shuttle and pick up the six units of Meg I'd been trying to sell in Luminaire for ages at over-market prices :P
Anyway, directly between my HQ and Lunminaire lies Orvolle, and you're all sick of my OSAL speeches by now, so I'll leave it at that. So anyway, this time there was a large blockade of m0o at the Luminaire gate, including Omniwar and Lexus666, but thanls to my super-awesome instajump BMs, I easily went past them. I dock at my station, pick up my small stock of meg, donate my Orvolle insta-jump BMs to some guy at the station, and head back the way I came.
Now, when I jumped into Orvolle, I was cloaked and noticed that most of the blockade had left (local in Luminaire speculated they'd moved on to PF-346 as usual to do a little NPC hunting.) But I see all of these abandoned cargo containers and think to myself "There's gotta be something in one of these!" So I set course for one of them, and while some poorly-timed lag set in, I saw that I'd been targeted by Omniwar, who'd stayed behind, and podded me almost instantly :P
I hope you got that Meg, Omniwar, and put it to good use. The good news was: it wasn't anything to whine over, just 60k worth of mins, I only lost a shuttle, and I would have had to update my clone soon anyway, so I was getting my money's worth.
Here's where insult is added to injury: you all know about my tirade about the Osmeden Alliance and how we were totally ******* over c0w with them. I'm glad we've managed to save a bunch of n00b (and our own) clones as a result, but being a very experienced and arrogant blockade runner, I should have been the LAST person to fall for that trick.
Omni, if you'd be interested in parting with my corpse in yoru collection, I'd like to have it back, just for morbid interest. And if any of you are interested in buying either Cap Rechargers or 1MN Micro Warp Drives (among other things, those being our biggest products) head over to Osmeden, since we're the only suppliers in a tri-region area!

So, explain to me again... how is this a Darwin Award? Seems to me he killed you. Sure, you may not have lost much but... you still died.
Just wondering.

Edited by: Nikolai Reidar on 26/02/2004 20:18:27 Edited by: Nikolai Reidar on 26/02/2004 20:17:25 It's a Darwin Award because I'm an experienced player who shouldn't have been screwing around. I SHOULD have looked around and made damn sure I was alone, and then headed back to my station anyway. Any smart person should know that pirates will never leave cargo behind unless it's Velator fittings :P
[edit.]Ah, I see what you mean. No, the award is intended for me, not him. The thread's called Pirate Darwin Award merely because a pirate was involved.

So are you a Pirate then?
Or did you win a Blockade Runner Darwin award?

Shouldn't that be exploitianced player?Calling yourself an experienced blockade runner because you insta BM past everything, is like calling yourself an uber Arkonor miner because you found a gridded belt. There, i gave this thread a meaning now.

Your wonderfully positive attitude would be sorely missed around these parts. ------------------------------------------------

Dude, this isn't the place for that. Try one of the other 17,000 threads based on that pointless debate.

You don't play, you just post. I bet CCP would reduce the fee if you were to quit posting. In fact, I might pay you to quit posting.

I don't either - why don't you stop? 1 less pirate/griefer in eve has to be a good thing for everyone else.

Really? So warping within 60KM, stopping your ship and firing at defenseless passers (they can't fire back or turrets will smash them) requires more skill than setting up a bookmark?

I was hoping they would come back to Period Basis so we could have more fun but alas we only have ATUK to play with.

If you're looking for a fight there's always one in Orvolle. Feel free to set up shop local to that region and fight all day! :D

May take you up on that. Hell of a long way to go though....lots of interesting stuff going on way out here. I thought this would be the hotbed for skirmishing.

Dumbfounded by my brilliance, eh Skokeh? Hehe, I have absolutely no idea where you went, but I figure that's as good a guess as any. Though I do agree with S3VYN, the entire Beyt constellation is a lot like Mos Eisley. Bovines in Orvolle, Druff und Weg in Oulley. God, I love living there
