If I want to build standing with a specific corp (Carthum Conglomerate) for ME research, I can run 15 missions (kill or courier) of the same level for Carthum and upon completion of the 16th mission of the same level, the game will assign a storyline mission to me from the nearest storyline agent that is the same faction (Amarr Empire) as the faction of the agent from mission 16?
So, if the nearest same faction storyline agent happens to be from a corp different from Carthum then the storyline corp standing gains will be wasted since they will go to a different corp?
Does anyone have method for raising standing with Carthum? I am looking at the Bahromab system, but there are only level 1 agents there. I don't know where to look for level 2 agents.

Check out: http://www.eve-agents.com/
Storyline agents are listed under level 1 agents. Used in conjunction with the map, it's a fine tool.
If you can't find something that's perfect, check around for a non-Carthum agent you can run that is close to a Carthum storyline agent. Use than agent on the 16th mission and you'll get the Carthum agent for the storyline. Does that make sense?

Yes, if the nearest faction storyline agent is from a different corp, then gains will be 'wasted' for you.
To find other agents, try: http://www.eve-agents.com/.

Asrios is the system you need to be in for carthum. There's plenty of admin and manufacturing agents there.
There's a Carthum storyline agent in Shemah next door. Have fun with the grind!

I used to run multiple courier missions for Carthum from Asrios. However the storyline agent was not always from the one in Shemah. Sometimes it sent me to Hedion!
But with warp to 0 doing bulk courier missions makes life a lot easier.

One thing abou storylines is they stack in a queue. If the first storyline doesnt get you the agent, dont do it and do another 15 missions so you get another storyline agent. This 2nd agent will be different then the first. --------------- This sig has been censored in fear of recieving the ban hammer... |

Ah, sweet sweet Asrios...I used that place to grind my Amarr standing from -1.1 to 5.something and after that I *never*, *ever* want to go there again
I can fly Whispers in the Dark in a Catalyst with my eyes closed now though
