Right then. I see a lot of missionrunning tengus in my sector of FW space and I find it unacceptable. The problem is...I'm really not sure how I would go about getting something that could effectively catch and kill one.
it is my understanding that Tengus generally fit 100mn afterburners which let them cruise around at 1.6-1.8 km/s. So, my gank ship either needs to be faster than that, or i need to have a friend in hero tackle with infinite webs.
The problem is, I cannot think of a ship that could reasonably do this without at least 3 people. Vaga is fast enough to catch a Tengu and stay on it, but doesn't do nearly enough damage to kill one. Any other cruiser hull would have trouble catching him, let alone killing him.
Assuming I had some manner of hero tackle that would let me actually catch him, would a webbing, neuting armorcane do the job? |

using a curse with a single large neut, will zap the majority of a tengus cap from in excess of 70km....added with your own 100mn (if it fits) and you will deffo catch him...or use a friend in a huggin for win eb bonuses! |

Ah I'm quite partial to killing mission running tengus, its actually surprisingly easy!
Take a look for me on killboards, if that's the kind of thing your trying to kill, then pop me an evemail - I'll be in game from 17:30ish today and can start a convo and let you in on some tricks

any other T3 should do the trick. Zealot with MWD longpoint and web if you can manage to get within 30km of one from warpin. Uhhhh.....Vagabond should be able to do it too Just remember to pound with EM. If theyre missioning they probobly dont have very high EM resist...maybe 60-70% |

So, I assume I could tone down that loki fit and have the same effect. I don't think I need the faction LSE (which is identical to a T2 LSE except with a smaller sig radius penalty).
Would a single vagabond really work (assuming I'm using EMP)? Exactly how much of a tank do these tengus field and how much of it is just raw speed tanking?
Anyway, I could definitely do curse + huginn, that does actually seem like a pretty hilarious combination. |

In high sec I find most Tengu drivers are just barely able to fly the things, have no pvp experience at all and panic easily.
Just my take. |

Nonsense. They're battle hardened veterans. I bet they've killed more rats in the last hour than I've killed players, ever. And quite a few of them make sure they can escape by fitting a WCS and a cloak Thats a badass fit right there.

From my experience with FW mission runners 90% of the battle is landing the point on them, you stroll up to their mission beacon in anything other than a cloaky ship then they'll be gone by the time you get into their mission. "they'll see me on the gate regardless" you cry, well that's a tip I'll offer you in game, I'm not posting it here for general consumption :)
The majority of them will have very good paper tanks, but put a medium neut on them and they will crumble remarkably quickly, even with the gimped dps that having a cloak yourself entails.
The majority of the FW tengus will themselves be cloaky, meaning their dps is in the 300dps region - I would be reluctant to go buffer tank in a 1vs1, especially when the odds are very good that your target will not be sporting a neut or a cap booster
As for 100MN AB tengus - I've only came across one FW mission runner using one as it tends to be a pvp kiting fit.

Take a Pilgrim. Fit something usefull into mid-slots, like Cap-Booster. Maybe an Dampener or a ECM would be nice too.

idk if this could work (probably not) but a dual rep sacrilege can go up to 2000 ms in overload (more if you dont use armor rigs) can tank some damage and you can do to the tengu the best kind of damage you need to
i think your best bet is a vigilant with ECM drones |

I'd agree with all except the Harpy. While it should survive just fine it will take forever and a day to chew through a Tengu with kin/therm damage from light blasters.
I'd add Vengeance to that list too.
