Children. 
When they feel they arent getting enough attention they attention seek.
The quickest way to discourage this type of behavior is to ignore it completely.
When the attention seeking produces no visable result the child will stop using the strategy.

There are certain groups and individuals in this neck of the woods that fit very nicely into the behavioral patterns described above,
please try to refrain from prolonging their use of this behavior by posting in their threads
