i'm a bit confused
i made the test to check if my gpu got shader 3.0 and yes it got it, so i should be able to play with the new engine
but... then i read about directx10 and that they are only supported in windows vista...
i really hate vista from the bottom of my hearth and don't want to upgrade to it
so: what are the requirements to play with the new engine, to play with trinity, the new graphics, or as you like to call it..... ?

Directx10 is not a part of this upcoming RevIII/Trinity expansion. The new engine and models don't require DX10. The DX10 client is different, and will come later, so you are fine.

Better graphics, better performance.
And, just to let you know, your hatred of Vista is completely irrational. Vista is fine. I've been running it on my only Windows machine for months now and am perfectly happy with it as my gaming machine. Linux is better, but as far as Windows goes, Vista is fine.

agreed.. vista is perfectly fine, i love it. there arent any real issues with it from what i can see, assuming your computer can handle it.

They'll come around to Vista eventually, and then when Microsoft launches their next OS the circle of whineage will continue.

Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. Vista is an abomination. If the lack of drivers is not enough to keep people away, the strange bugs will be (like microphones being almost completely silent is the first one that jumps to mind). Gaping security flaws etc. XP Pro is leagues better, and I will not be upgrading until I hear "service pack 2" for Vista is out.

yes but it was exactly the same when xp came out. it'll all be fixed eventually...
